Goodmorning everyone!
I am currently a student in upstate NY. I’m due to graduate in May. I have received a job offer from Vidant Health in North Carolina! I have to speak with the nurse recruiter in more detail, but he mentioned relocation assistance is available. It doesn’t need to be specifically Vidant Health, but has anyone heard of temporary housing or rent assistance included in relocation assistance? I may have difficulty affording first months rent without borrowing money from family, as I haven’t been in work for the last year of school.

Relocation for entry level jobs is rare. The places that do offer relocation assistance (or sign-on bonuses) are usually doing so for a reason. They're desperate and cannot get staff any other way. Perhaps that isn't true of North Carolina.
If you are offered relocation assistance, be prepared to pay your moving costs up front, and you'll get the money in your second or third check.
I don't know how much stuff you have to move, or if you're moving alone. If you're not moving your entire family, you might be able to find a roommate situation and just move your clothing and personal items. Work a while, save up money and then move the rest of your stuff. Borrow money from family, sell everything you own that you can part with and just move yourself, or stay where you are and work until you can save money to move. There are lots of options.

Also you will be taxed on it. A nasty surprise when I was a youngling.

You should ask the details about relocation assistance. How much exactly and who is giving to you and in what way. Or do they mean moving expense reminbursement from IRS?
