Transfer between HealthSouth facilities

Hi everyone,

I am looking into transferring from one HealthSouth facility to one in another state. I can't find the information I need as far as steps to take to do such a thing and I don't want to talk to HR about it yet.

Has anybody gone through this before or would know how to go about it?

I attempted an out-of-state transfer several years ago, but the HR director at the facility in the other state never answered her phone when I telephoned her.

Anyhow, you submit an application to the facility in the city/state where you want to work. If the HR director and nursing management at the facility in the other state are interested in an internal candidate from out-of-state, you will receive a call from them to undergo an interview either via phone or in person.

should I inform my current facility first?

Informing HR/management at your facility first is a personal choice...I personally would not inform anyone at the current facility until I had at least an interview lined up with the out-of-state hospital.
