registration NCLEX RN and ATT

World International

Published

I have registed NCLEX RN examination on April with pearson vue and I have received my ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RECEIPT OF NCLEX EXAMINATION REGISTRATION from pearson vue on 21 Apr 2008. But I have not gotten my ATT after 4 weeks.

Peanson vue tell me they have still not received confirmation from New York state nursing board.

Now my question is: Who should inform state board to sent confirmation letter to Pearson Vue ? me or Pearson Vue itself?

Thanks

You need to contact the BON and have them send it to Pearson-Vue again. Have seen this happen in the past, and it is not an issue at all. Best time to contact the BON is via phone and at 0830 NY time, and you can get thru to them at that time the easiest.

Pearson-Vue will not do this for you, it is not their responsibility to do so.

thanks very much

I want to know, did Pearson Vue called or mailed New York board of nursing and wanted my confimation letter as soon as I registered Rn examination 4 weeks ago? I think is them to connect state board at first.

You have to ring NY and ask them to re send your eligibility to pearsonvue, pearsonvue will not ring for you this is something you have to chase.

NY sends to Pearson-Vue via computer and sometimes things do not get to where they are supposed to go to.

Pearson-Vue takes no responsibility for not receiving something in the first place, this is something that you need to follow up on. We have seen it happen before and it will continue to happen.

NY is actually quite good about it, they will just resend it for you and you will have the ATT within 48 hours, usually quicker.

Pearson-Vue never contacts the BON when one applies, there is no reason for them to do that. Each state BON sends the approval notice to Pearson-Vue and that is how things are done.

Registration Time Limit

All NCLEX examination registrations will remain open for a 365-day time period during which a board of nursing may determine the candidate's eligibility. The time period begins when the board of nursing receives the candidate's registration from the test service. Once a candidate is made eligible, he or she must test within the validity dates printed on the Authorization to Test (ATT).

So I think Pearson Vue should contect them first.

Does not indicate that pearsonvue has to ring them first. Much better if you ring NY and ask them to re sent eligibility

Pearson-Vue actually does not have permission to obtain your records from NY, that is why there are unable to do anything about this for you. It comes down to a breakdown in communication between the BON and Pearson-Vue.

You can wait all that you wish, but the fact is that nothing will get done unless you contact the BON. And if you think otherwise, you are going to be spending much money on phone calls when you can limit it to one and only one.

We have told you what you need to do, it is up to you as to when you complete it.

hello to everyone! i would like to share a little info for those of you who are retaking the nclex-rn exam in the state of new york.

i took the exam in 2009 but unfortunately i did not pass. after 11 months now i feel that i'm ready to take the nclex-rn exam once again! :p

here's what i did:

step 1. register at the pearson vue website (fee: $200)

step 2. i sent an email to the new york state education department (nysed) / new york board of nursing (email: [email protected])

**after registering at the pearson vue website, i immediately sent an email to nysed/ny bon requesting them to resend my eligibility letter to pearson vue in order for the pearson vue to issue my att.

**make sure to provide your full name and date of birth so they can reply quickly. it wouldn't hurt if you also include your nclex candidate number (if you can still remember it)

**after waiting for 2-3 days, here's what i got in my inbox from the nysed:

"you should be receiving an att from ncs pearson within 2-3 weeks (or sooner by e-mail). if you have not received the att by then, please contact ncs pearson by e-mail at [email protected]

good luck on the exam!"

yes! it was that easy! i received my att from pearson vue the same day! i only waited 3-4 days!!! no need to re-apply to the ny board of nursing! yay! :yeah:

now the only thing i have to do is review, review, review..... :uhoh3:

i still have 50 days to go before the big day.... that should be long enough for me to finish my review... i hope i don't go crazy!!!! :D

i hope this will help answer some of the questions regarding the retake procedure in the state of new york.

god bless us all! :)
