hi everyone, it's kristina, i am exactly in my class room right now having child and maternal subject, we're talking about breast care and pregnant mother exercise. well, actually i am not going to continue talking about the subject i am having in the class now though but i am going to talk about the international qualification for diploma nursing student. i am going to one of the nursing school in bali (everyone knows bali, right? lol), my school program is preparing all the students to be a diploma nurse, i take 3 years to finish my nursing school, and now i am in the semester 3, so it means i am gonna have one and a half more years to finish my nursing school. i have an expectation to be qualified internationally so that i can work as a nurse not just in my country :), anyone of you know what should i get through to get an international qualification?

There is no "International Qualification" for nursing worldwide.

As virtually every nation has slightly different qualifications, and in most nations one could not be qualified without having a certain amount of proficiency in the local language, there really is no way to have an "international qualification" unless one was proficient in every single language in the world.

The other issue. Just because you get "qualified' to be a nurse in another nation, does not mean that you get papers that would permit one to actually work there, or that there will be jobs available. Often, the hardest part of immigration is getting a working status Visa, not the getting qualified as a nurse. And with the current recession, mostindustrialized nations are not easily providing work Visas as so many of their citizens/local nurses are unemployed.

Also, as a note, many nations require a 4 year degree/BSN/RN level education to qualify to work as a nurse. Not all, mind you, but quite a few.

hello caroladybelle,

nice reading your comments. so it means that i should get the working visa to work anywhere i want in the world?

The process for getting a work visa is different for each country. There is not just one visa that allows you to work anywhere. You also have to get a nursing license for that country and pass the required language exam.Getting a license for another country always includes passing a nursing exam for that country. Many countries require a 4 year BSN as a minimum requirement. There is no way to be "internationally qualified" to work as a nurse
