BSN Question

Nursing Students ADN/BSN

I have a BA in chemistry really old degree. Knew my grades were not good enough to get in the accelerated program have to have almost a 4.0 around here to get in. I also have an ADRN degree and a job. Was wondering if it would improve my job prospects to go for BSN. I have applied to local university and will have to talk to the counselor eventually. I work currently in an infirmary in a prison getting lots of experience. Will I then be more likely to get into the hospital? Also if I keep applying and interview what do I tell future employers that I am taking classes again? Thanks in Advance for any help.

Unless a lot of hospitals near you require BSN your experience as an RN will probably matter more. If you want more education you might run your credits by Excelsior. I'm in an MSN program there based on my Bachelors in Music, I've got an ASN too. I contacted them about my BSN and they told I was eligible for the MSN program. To me it was a no brainer.

agree with 2033.....unless you want to get managment experience or go for a MSN/PhD..then there is honestly no point in getting a BSN...experience will get you a RN job before education will....
