Regis College Incoming Students for Fall 2009!

U.S.A. Massachusetts

Published

hi all,

i decided to start a new regis thread for all students who will be starting the accelerated bsn/msn program in september 2009! the other major regis thread is a little dated, and i wanted to give definite future students a chance to meet and greet in a separate thread!

i figure this will be a good place for any and all questions about the upcoming months ahead, along with getting to know our future classmates. :nurse:

please feel free to say hi or ask any or all questions in this thread - i personally am probably going to be throwing a little get together in boston (at my apartment) early summer for anyone who would like to meet before orientation in july!! :p

They had mentioned it at one of the accepted students days that I went to. They have some assistantships for the nursing department. I applied a little while ago but I don't know if they've made any decisions yet.

Heyy all! I am so sick of hearing all the negative feedback about Regis. Someone finally made a REALLY great post that also is really informative about Regis and I want to direct you all there: https://allnurses.com/graduate-nurse-forum/regis-college-information-372627.html#post3707835

She explains the negative feedback...why some people are angry about certain things...and also talks about how proud she is to be part of the program and what she loves. It was so refreshing!! I for one can't wait to meet you all at orientation in August and start school in September!

Hi everyone!!

Almost a month until orientation...CRAZY! I hope everyone has been having a good summer! Pam (MissPamela19) and I were talking about maybe getting together before orientation with anyone who was interested. We both looked at our calendars and decided that July 28th worked out best. Something low key like dinner or drinks in Boston (although we're up for suggestions)--and don't worry nothing too expensive! We wanted to get a head count of who is interested/who can come before we went ahead and made reservations. Respond here and let me know what you think!!

I would love to meet up with people. The 28th works for me! Have you posted to the facebook group? More people might see that.

oh I didn't realize people were checking the fb group--not a lot of activity there, but yeah I will post!

I have been crazy busy at work and the week of the 27th is going to be really terrible. I dont think I will make it :( I'd love to know where you are headed though just in case

Yeah absolutely! We haven't gotten that far with our plans yet we wanted to get a head count first, but just in case people's plans change last minute and those who couldn't go can we will definitely post details here when we know! Sorry work is so busy for you!!

Just wondering what people plan do do about insurance coverage? I dont know much about the insurance Regis offers, does anyone have more info? Thanks.

hey I actually just received the insurance today. Regis gives everyone insurance through Harvard Pilgrim Health Care "free". I am actually probably not going to use it because I am still allowed to be under my parents insurance since I am 22, but automatically everyone enrolled full-time in Regis gets this insurance (I just got off the phone with them discussing it actually).

Can't wait to meet everyone tomorrow at orientation!!!

Thanks! Is it full insurance coverage, or one of the discount programs? Do you know? I am just wondering if it is enough or if I should worry about finding other coverage.

I didnt get my mail yet today, but I bet it will be there when I get home. Hopefully it will be everything I need. Thanks again!

It's both. There were 2 cards. One was the full coverage. The guy I spoke to at Harvard Pilgrim gave me a website www.uhcsr.com In the upper-right there is a link that says "find my school's plan". Type in Regis and then look at their "Policy Brochure 2009-1" It is a 34 page document, but the guy was really helpful and said that right at the beginning it discusses the benefits and then on page 20 it starts discussing any exclusions/limitations.

The other card is just the discount program card.

The full looks pretty inclusive, but to be honest I didn't look into it very much since I have the other insurance plan.

Yeah I just received this today, so hopefully yours will be there when you get home!

Thanks for the help!
