Regis College Incoming Students for Fall 2009!

U.S.A. Massachusetts

Published

hi all,

i decided to start a new regis thread for all students who will be starting the accelerated bsn/msn program in september 2009! the other major regis thread is a little dated, and i wanted to give definite future students a chance to meet and greet in a separate thread!

i figure this will be a good place for any and all questions about the upcoming months ahead, along with getting to know our future classmates. :nurse:

please feel free to say hi or ask any or all questions in this thread - i personally am probably going to be throwing a little get together in boston (at my apartment) early summer for anyone who would like to meet before orientation in july!! :p

You can also call the uniform place. It's not a great option since they have no website, so you can't really see what you're ordering, but if you can't/would rather not drive up, it's another option.

Hi Calalilly,

I hope this message finds you well! I was just accepted into the Regis NP program! I was curious if wouldn't mind sending me the schedule for the various sessions as I have yet to receive it. I would greatly appreciate it! Also, I look forward to meeting everyone soon!

Thanks!

Hi everyone! I'm Amy and I'm also in the NP program starting this Fall. It was nice to find a thread on here for the program. What group are you all in? I'm in 1A. I'm excited for it to start. :)

Hi Amy! I'm in group 1A as well. I'm sure we will be seeing a lot of each other!

Welcome Amy! I'm in group 1B, so we have a lot of classes together too!

Calalilly and Jennifer, that's great! I'm looking forward to meeting you both at orientation later this summer. :)

Hi everyone!

Been wayyyy too long since I've posted on here ... just wanted to let you all know, since we still haven't gotten any paperwork on orientation - I emailed Vera Wooten today, and our orientation is on August 18th, at 3 pm, in the College Hall foyer on the 2nd floor. If anyone is like me and booking a last minute vacation before school starts, just figured you might want to know to book your vaca around this!!

Also - I'm having a BIG problem with health insurance coverage as of Sept. 1 right now ... what is everyone doing for health insurance when school starts?? I'd like to hear everyones plans to see if maybe I can figure something out - Thanks! Can't wait to meet you all :nurse:

Oh and PS - for all the newcomers, I am in Group 2A.

Thanks for the orientation details! Thankfully I come back from California on the 16th of August. Good timing!!!

As for insurance, I'm just going on to the school's health insurance. I tried researching the plan and I think it's some version of Harvard Pilgrim. I'm staying at my full time job until July 31st so that my insurance will cover me through August. My issue is that we don't have dental insurance and there doesn't seem to be a plan we can do on our own to get it. If anyone knows of any dental plans, I'd love to hear about it. Has anyone heard about assistantships yet? They said decisions should be made by mid-June. I'm still hoping to get one so I don't have to take out yet another loan. :)

Assistantships?! Whoa, I think I'm out of the loop - do explain!?!
