Recovery Trek - Test Options

Published

Hey, are there any nurses here in monitoring programs who use Recovery Trek for drug testing? I'm trying to figure out what the different tests actually check for. It bugs me that they're not upfront about it, especially since it's one of those situations where you can't see your own medical records. From what I've gathered:

Does Option 1 only test for alcohol?

Is Option 2 a basic drug check (like 6-10 drugs)?

For Option 3, is it just the standard panel plus EtS or EtG for alcohol (like 8-12 drugs)?

What about Option 6 #96150 – does it include fentanyl or newer stuff like Kratom?

And Option 6 PeTH – is that blood test only for medium to high alcohol intake in the last 3-4 weeks?

Also, no clue what else they might test, and has anyone ever had a hair or nail test? Or any drugs I didn't mention? Just curious.

Did they say if it was hair nails blood or urine? I did an option 8 urine and it was observed.  Should be under 200 for collection and test combined

Yeah, urine for me too. Dang, pretty expensive. Do you know what they tested you for? Just worried about a 5 Mg gummy I had 3 weeks ago.

We only find out if it's positive. Knock on wood all my tests in monitoring were negative.  Hopefully it will be negative for you. Such a low dose 1 time...

It's a guess but they probably tested for thc

For anyone reading this for the future push your evaluation out and abstain for 30 days for urine.

My case hasn't been presented to the hprp board yet, I can still get an agreement. Just trying to figure out what option 8 tests for and cost before that happens.

Doesn't matter. I've wrote this 10 times on the Board, options mean NOTHING because you ara being Tested for MORE than what you think you are. Add Ons. Add Ons. Add ons.

Example....nurse does research and matches up Rec Trek codes to find out what Option 7 or Option B is tested for and Nurse thinks that is all they are being tested for, but the case manager does 3 Add Ons to Option 7 that the nurse doesn't know about and the nurse gets nailed. Happens all of the time. Case managers are allowed to do a set number of Add ons with Quest and Labcorp In ADDition to whatever option is chosen. Option 2 for example is mostly Alcohol. Nurse feels good because they haven't drank, but Case Manager selected with one easy click of the mouse to Add on Weed, Neurontin and Kratom. Nurse gets nailed for Kratom when they think they were just being tested for alcohol.

I'm warning you fellow nurses, put "Options" out of your head because a Case manager can, and often does do Add Ons for 2 or 3 and sometimes 4 other drugs in ADDITION to whatever Option you got selected for and you will never know.

This means,....it doesn't matter what Option you are tested for because you can still be tested for several more drugs no matter what Option you are chose for, so each time selected, it's smart to assume you are tested for everything.

Thanks for the info. Do they ever test for nicotine?

Everything I've read so far says they don't.

Unfortunately they gave me a deadline only a couple days after I received a letter in the mail. Would have abstained if I'd known sooner. My at home tests have been negative so I'm hoping for the best.

My drug test was negative and the psychologist I got an evaluation from is recommending only therapy, but not a monitoring agreement. What are my chances of avoiding an agreement? My OWI was also 2 years ago, no issues at all since then, I didn't get probation.

It really depends.  It's definitely good they suggested no monitoring agreement.  If they come back and say you need one I'd get an independent evaluation which has to be one of theirs.  It would at least deduct time. I hope you get no monitoring agreement.

The initial evaluation was done by one of three people that they offered. So that was one of theirs, right? The evaluator told me they normally listen to her suggestions so I'm hopeful.

Seeking help! I just began my monitoring with Recovery Trek and had a difficult time finding a job as a New Grad RN. Luckily, I was able to find one but I wanted to see if anyone that has or is currently monitoring with Recovery Trek can help with knowing how monitoring works once you are working. What if you are selected for testing on a day where you work and may not be able to get to a testing site due to long work hours?
