Hi. I am a future student, I have completed all my prerequisites for my schools PN program and I have applied but did not make it in for the January program. Since I have a year to wait, I wanted to self expunge my record (I would have an attorney to it for me if I had the money) but I need some advice if anyone might have any idea at all because I am kinda clueless.
From what I have read in the research that I've done so far, you can only have one charge sealed or expunged from your criminal record. I have two charges from when I was much younger and much less responsible... One is for marijuana under 5 grams, and the other charge from another incident was an arrest for check fraud, long story short, I wrote a check and could not pay it back after my bank account was severely overdrawn by BofA...
Anyway, I paid everything I needed to and went to court etc etc... and I have not been in trouble in YEARS. I just want to know if anyone has any idea, since I can only seal one arrest record, which one should I seal? Which one of these charges (if any) would possibly keep me out of the PA program or from getting a job later?
Any advice would be much appreciated!!! I am a good woman, mother of three babies that I love and are the world to me, and I come from a family of nurses that I would love to say that I am also a nurse as well... Thanks!!!

Hi! Where do you live? I live in Ca, and I am also on the waitlist for nusing. I have a huge criminal record, but I have had every case expunged. I did it on my own without a lawyer. I have all the paperwork, and I am more than happy to help you. I am not sure I can help if you live in another state, but the step by step process should be the same. Let me know and maybe we can go over the steps on the phone. I have all the exact legal forms needed to do the expungement.

I have been arrested for marijuana, in 1998. That did not stop me from getting my RN. Nobody cares about that. I also have a 2nd degree misdemeanor for driving on a suspended lic. That is the one everyone gets their panties in a wad over. I find it odd everyone voted to expunge the reefer. In nursing and teaching, I have done both, the real concerns are what I call the trifecta of doom... sex crimes, stealing/fraud, and battery. These kinds of charges show an unstable psyche, a lack of ethics, and a lack of self control. This is the kind of stuff that employers run from, not some weed!!! Expunge the fraud/bad checks, pee in a cup, and go to work!!!

Hi Kimberly. I am interested in hearing your story and experience with the 1998 arrest. Do you mind if I PM you? Thanks
