U.S.A. Arizona

Hi everyone! I'm new here but have been reading many forums that helped my career path as a nurse. I currently live in cali and got accepted into accelerated RN program at university of arizona, tucson. I was wondering if anyone has gone through the program and what their likes/dislikes are, recommendations on where to live, what state you took the NCLEX and if you felt prepared, and advice on getting through the intense program.

I live in Tucson and am waiting on starting at Pima CC. Tucson is a great city to live in, but it takes some getting used to. The U of A is in the downtown area somewhat near the freeway on Speedway Blvd. Check Craigslist for housing and map it to make sure it's close. Tucson is a sprawling city so you can live in the city while driving an hour to work/school. http://tucson.craigslist.org/apa/

I've lived in the Tucson area for a few years now, and I like it here! I actually live down in Sahuarita (SW of Tucson) right now and I love it. It's especially great if you have kids as it's a very family friendly area. It's about a 30 minute drive to the UA from here. It seems kind of far, but I think it's worth it for the area.

Specializes in Private Practice- wellness center.

I live in the Northwest, an area called Continental Ranch. If you have children, it is a great area to be in, while still only being about a 30 minute drive away. If you do not have children, and want to be CLOSE to the U, (and have the pocketbook for it) try looking for a rental in the Sam Hughes neighborhood. (I LOVE that area.)
