Are you a US BSN graduate or a non-US BSN degree holder?
What year did you get your BSN?
I graduated from philippines year 2008.
You should read the many many threads in the World forum under the Nurse Registration tab here, you will find that the vast majority of the PH applicants, whether they are new grads or experienced nurses are unable to get any sort of licensure in CA without having to either re-take two deficient courses minimum up to 4 or possible more.
I would say most are simply going out of CA to other states to get licensed that are not affected by the strict enforcement of the concurrency rules (it's not a new regulation and has been in the policy since 1987).
Several years of paid nursing experience will not count towards any of the deficiencies as it's all based on your college transcripts. These re-take courses are very limited due to several thousand other international applicants from all over the world are also trying to get into a slot and many are pretty expensive.
Here's one recent thread: https://allnurses.com/california-nursing/reciprocity-to-california-921784.html
But you'll find more information on this "concurrency" issue from the other above forum and tab mentioned and what it all means.
I didn't get they're letter of denial yet but i heard a lot of stories about getting denied. I'm a little bit hopeful to get approve as I really wanted to move to ca. Anyway, before i passed nclex in state of Vermont, I applied to cali and approve me to sit for nclex that was year 2009 or 2010 when i was still in Philippines but i wasn't able to take it so the time allocated to me lapses already. When i got here in USA i applied again for NCLEX but in vermont then endorsed to NJ as I work here.
There are many posters earlier who were PH applicants that were approved prior to the strict CA BRN enforcement of the concurrency (Nov. 2011), then they failed to pass the NCLEX-RN and upon re-applying only weeks or months (after the Nov. 2011 date), they were denied the new ATT and unable to re-take the NCLEX-RN.
The application fee are not refundable once the package is opened and goes thru the review evaluation.
They were found to have not met the concurrency rules and needed to comply with the concurrency rules or in some cases, were found to have been deficient in two more courses or found they were lacking in sufficient clinical hours in the further review process.
Had you passed the NCLEX-RN in CA first, then, endorsed to the other states and wanted to come back to CA, then, there are those that were able to get endorsed back to CA, but again, they were fortunate to have gotten the NCLEX passing in CA.
