Recent experiences

Nursing Students Excelsior

Published

Hi I am looking for recent experiences with Excelsior nursing exams all the threads I find are old ones, from 2007 to 2012. I am currently in the last four exams I have reproductive health which I take 7/6/15 and then LS 1-3. I am wanting to be done hopefully fingers crossed by the end of August this year with exams and then hopefully with the entire program in December. That being said I use the SG101 notes and it seems their notes are a little helpful but tend to be behind I guess some things have changed since they last made their notes. I would like to know what to focus on from here on out and anyones recent testing experiences. How long did anyone study for in between testing for the life span series of exams and any pointers?

Thank you I did pass reproductive health today. The test only matched some of SG101 notes. So pretty much I wanted to try to finish the LS series in 6 weeks taking one every two weeks. And good luck on the CPNE.

Hello,

I have two theory exams left before the FCCA'S. I'm scheduled to take LS2 & LS3 in the upcoming weeks. I've taken the EC practice exams for LS2, and have studied textbook reading based of the EC content guides. I didn't feel the EC practice exam was as helpful with LS1 in comparison to previous exams. Do you feel they are helpful with LS2 & LS3?

Thanks!

I did pass my LS1 on Thursday I studied 2 weeks but I worked cardiology and I love the respiratory system. I worked oncology as well do for me personally I didn't find that hard. I am now preparing for LS2 to take in 2 wks I did find the practice test helped I literally had 12 questions one the test from my practice exam. I only used sg101 I thought they weren't helpful but they were right on point with LS1 so I will use them for 2 as well.

I am looking for recent life span 2 exam experiences. I just passed my ls1 on Thursday. I am hoping to take my ls 2 in two weeks any pointers. Greatly appreciated.

I took my last nursing class last week and I am waiting to be able to register for my FCCA. I got the letter saying I was cleared to take it but I am unable to register for it. :sniff: I also am wanting to be done by December. Where are you located? I am in DFW area.

I am in Nashville. Congrats on passing all exams I know the system was down for two days.

I took LS 1 about a week ago and passed with a B. I have made all B's and 1 A on the exams. Some people have told me that SG 101 is good to use but I just can read that and get a good understanding. I use the content guide and the recommend text book ( which I rent for about $30 for approx 4 months. If I have to extend my rental its usually about $15) I basically just type my own study guide and create my own cheat sheet to study for a day or two before the tests. The practice exams are amazing!

Yes I do use my practice test I know on ls1 I had 12 questions on the exam from my practice exams. I just want to get them done before they change the testing format

I'm trying to get mine done before the testing format changes too. Also, before the deadline for the next FCCA.

It seems as though there really isn't one way to study for the exams. The two most popular opinions are use sg101 and get the EC practice exam. The practice exam is 75 dollars but worth it since you'd have to pay 4x that amount to retest.

I am also trying to get them done to get into the Oct 19th FCCA as well. I hoping to complete my last two exams by the 14th. is what my advisor told me to safely receive a space in the course. I heard some say you have to take the FCCA one at a time but my advisor stated if you were strong with care planning you can successfully completely both at the same time. I am hoping to complete both at the same time but I do not know anyone who has completed both at the same time either.

yes I was a little shocked by the price increase but I guess whatever it takes to get it done lol.

bgriffin32 I'm located close to Nashville, too. I actually work in Nashville...

Taking LS3 as a course now, and testing very soon for LS2. I keep procrastinating with LS2! I'm shooting for October FCCA'S.
