Hi I am looking for recent experiences with Excelsior nursing exams all the threads I find are old ones, from 2007 to 2012. I am currently in the last four exams I have reproductive health which I take 7/6/15 and then LS 1-3. I am wanting to be done hopefully fingers crossed by the end of August this year with exams and then hopefully with the entire program in December. That being said I use the SG101 notes and it seems their notes are a little helpful but tend to be behind I guess some things have changed since they last made their notes. I would like to know what to focus on from here on out and anyones recent testing experiences. How long did anyone study for in between testing for the life span series of exams and any pointers?
I'm heading to Albany, NY to test at Albany Medical Center right now as we speak. I believe I'm prepared, but I'm going up a little early to take the one - day workshop the school offers.
The best advice I can give anyone is read the ENTIRE study guide. You will know what skills they expect you to have, and what skills they won't expect you to have. Then, I suggest getting a copy of Taylor's Clinical Skills textbook with the DVD. I also found the Mosby's Nursing Skills DVD to be extremely helpful. Both can be found on Amazon.

Was 7 months enough time to study? Did you feel prepared enough for the CPNE after 7 months or did you want/need more time?
