Recent Chamberlain on campus grad

Published

Hello!

I just recently finished my BSN on campus at Chamberlain. If anyone has any questions regarding the program, please contact me.

Hi,

I'm thinking about Chamberlain's program for naxt spring. Can you tell me more about your experience there?

I started there when it was Deaconess. After it became Chamberlain, many changes took place. An entire new administration came in & things really went downhill. My suggestion would be to not seek education there. A lot of my professors left when the school changed to Chamberlain. I hear from many other students that have just started there that the professors now are not very good. Many of these professors came from Sanford Brown, which from my understanding is a terrible program. I was more than halfway through the program when the school became Chamberlain, so I stuck it out. I have a good friend who started recently & she is considering transferring to Barnes. I just feel that Chamberlain has really gone downhill in the last year. I would really consider another program.

Hope this helps.

I am in the BSN on campus program right now and I think it is what you make it. Nursing school is not a walk in the park--it takes a lot of time and SELF dedication. In my own personal opinion, the instructors are good--I think you cannot compare instructors unless you have experienced other programs. I am happy with the program. As far as the online program...well that is another story which baffles me. How anyone can learn these skills effectively online is unimaginable.

So true about what you put into your education! Recently, Dean LLoyd resigned from the college. I think that's a positive for the program. She was not an asset to the program. I hear the new instructors are good. The instructors I had were excellent. I think the issues lie within the administration & now that the dean is gone things should turn around. I received a call from one of the administrators. He wants to meet with me regarding my experience at the school. I'm meeting with him after the new year. I believe Chamberlain wants gain credibility. As far as the online program, you're right. I think that may be difficult. Good luck. Happy to help with anything, so e mail anytime.

Muffy, just wanted to stop by and say hello. I'm still trying to hang in there. If everthing goes the way I've hoped and dreamed for, I should be at Barnes in Jan 2009. Keep in touch.Nik

Thanks I will be sure to get in touch with you. It is really neat that you get to return to provide some insight on how to make the program better. It is always nice to know they are always making an effort to improve. BTW where did you decide to work after graduation?

Well, speaking as an online student due to graduate March 08, I would say that learning the skills has definitely not been the difficult part of my education. We do, after all, have the same amount of clinical hour requirements as on campus students. The problem with the online program is the lack of communication between students and administration. Also, one must be very self disciplined and willing to spend a lot of time reading. Although, I would imagine that would apply to the on campus program as well. I agree that no program is going to be a walk in the park. I also agree that for the most part my instructors have been good. Two of my favorite instructors came over from Sanford Brown. Go figure :rotfl:
