Hello,
how are you all doing today? so i have been thinking of joining the navy (American) but i really don't know how to go about it mainly because i am a junior in school, about getting my nursing degree. I heard you cannot choose when to go on training and if you miss going when you are sent, you might be jailed for it. i do not want to miss any semester and so won't want to take chances. please what advice can you people give me at this time.
Thanks.

Maybe wait till you graduate and then commission to be a nurse instead of enlisting.

If you wait till you have a degree, don't you get to enter the military with a higher rank, like officer or something? That will be great working for the military and getting all the benefits they get when it comes to retirement. I salute you for wanting to join.

There is an article about military nursing here: https://allnurses.com/government-military-nursing/military-nursing-885815.html
Being a military nurse requires an accredited US BSN degree with a high GPA and US citizenship. Physical fitness and age requirements are also a factor. If you are serious about joining (and yes, being absent without leave (AWOL) is an offense punishable by jail), your best bet is to contact a healthcare recruiter; there are links in the article I referenced. Best of luck to you in the rest of your program.
Thanks a lot
