ooops... The other one had 2011 instead of 2012... let's try this again:
Just thought I would start a new thread for the current application cycle. Questions... stats... rumors... etc!
My question is... for those applying this cycle, how did you do on the TEAS V? Since this is the first year they are using this test, it would be nice to see how everyone is doing.
(Please don't post TEAS 3 or TEAS 4 results, as the scores are NOT comparable with the TEAS V.)
No letter in my mailbox either, oh well, something to look forward to tomorrow, ha!!
@nursing4811, I applied to NVCC also and BHSN, I got accepted to bhsn, really want to go there because i heard similar stories about nvcc and I have heard bhsn is not like that. But, since nvcc schedule works better for me (with 5 kids and 4 that need to get on the bus around 8:30), I hope to go to nvcc. I also like the fact that you can take half of the classes online(or partial online).
I'm really hoping that the nurse instructors are just trying to see who has tough skin and not actually being really mean. I for one do not have tough skin, just my nature, but in this profession I am going to have to grow some.
Anyone hear good things about nvcc? Seems I always just hear the bad:uhoh21:
I just wanted to say something regarding how nice/not nice the instructors are during the NUR classes. I'm sure they are very busy and don't forget, we are 125 students that they're accepting. I have a friend who is a nurse and she tried teaching a class for 1 semester, she actually had 2 classes. the students of one class were older, and the other class was younger. So she did complain about the older class more, but I tried to explain to her that she needs to understand that "older" students have more responsibilities than the younger ones. I'm 25, I don't have kids, I don't have to rush home to make dinner/drive kids to school or whatever. Yes, I do pay bills, but it's just for me. Plus I can imagine that we (the new students) are going to be really nervous and we won't know right away what to do. that might annoy the instructors as well...and of course, it depends on the students too. some students are always like (including me), some miss deadlines, others show up unprepared/wear wrong clothes....but whatever people say, just do your best, stick to what they're asking you to do, 2 years is not long (btw. it's only 8months out of 12), and don't forget, we have to be very thankful for have gotten the seat.
