Ready to Apply CT Community Colleges- Nursing Program 2012

Published

ooops... The other one had 2011 instead of 2012... let's try this again:

Just thought I would start a new thread for the current application cycle. Questions... stats... rumors... etc!

My question is... for those applying this cycle, how did you do on the TEAS V? Since this is the first year they are using this test, it would be nice to see how everyone is doing.

(Please don't post TEAS 3 or TEAS 4 results, as the scores are NOT comparable with the TEAS V.)

Did anyone from gateway see wait list during the glitch?

Well if anyone would have got it today it would have been you being so close. I have lost any hope for today well maybe I still have just a little. Hahaha but maybe tommorow. My mail gets here at 4-5. I doubt it but you know wishful thinking.

No letter in my mailbox either, oh well, something to look forward to tomorrow, ha!!

@nursing4811, I applied to NVCC also and BHSN, I got accepted to bhsn, really want to go there because i heard similar stories about nvcc and I have heard bhsn is not like that. But, since nvcc schedule works better for me (with 5 kids and 4 that need to get on the bus around 8:30), I hope to go to nvcc. I also like the fact that you can take half of the classes online(or partial online).

I'm really hoping that the nurse instructors are just trying to see who has tough skin and not actually being really mean. I for one do not have tough skin, just my nature, but in this profession I am going to have to grow some.

Anyone hear good things about nvcc? Seems I always just hear the bad:uhoh21:

No letter in my mail either...just bills

Hello everyoneHas anyone tried to register for the first nursing class? If so what was the result

@abuice: I tried, I was able to add the NUR 101 class to my worksheet, but I didn't click on "register" I was too afraid to click on that. What about you guys? Are you all able to add NUR101 to your worksheet? let us know please! :)

I just wanted to say something regarding how nice/not nice the instructors are during the NUR classes. I'm sure they are very busy and don't forget, we are 125 students that they're accepting. I have a friend who is a nurse and she tried teaching a class for 1 semester, she actually had 2 classes. the students of one class were older, and the other class was younger. So she did complain about the older class more, but I tried to explain to her that she needs to understand that "older" students have more responsibilities than the younger ones. I'm 25, I don't have kids, I don't have to rush home to make dinner/drive kids to school or whatever. Yes, I do pay bills, but it's just for me. Plus I can imagine that we (the new students) are going to be really nervous and we won't know right away what to do. that might annoy the instructors as well...and of course, it depends on the students too. some students are always like (including me), some miss deadlines, others show up unprepared/wear wrong clothes....but whatever people say, just do your best, stick to what they're asking you to do, 2 years is not long (btw. it's only 8months out of 12), and don't forget, we have to be very thankful for have gotten the seat.

Hi I am new here. I pressed register and it indicated my major was incorrect. I do not know what that means

@neverknow...well it means that we cannot sign up because our major isn't nursing...My major is still General Studies. I think it will be changed after we are accepted into the nursing program and after we accept our seat.

Does it also say "sought: assoc. in science" mine says that near the general studies degree in mycommnet under unofficial transcript

@motosteph: yes, mine says that too "Associate in science" and General Studies on the bottom. I'm sure that won't change until we receive the acceptance letter and until we accept the seat in the program

@motosteph.... mines just say general studies ..@neverknow... I think everyone is trying to grasp at straws to get a clue if we were accepted... good luck to everyone
