Wow - I thought after 5 years some kind of refresher course would be required.

You would think it would be a requirement but luckily and unluckily it is not. Any pointers?

Pick up several comprehensive review books and I would aim to do 2000+ questions from a variety of books before taking the NCLEX PN. It would be better if you could do a refresher class.

Google up NCLEX 3000 online and do 200-300 questions daily.

Hello i am in need of some advice. I graduated 2010 from a Vocational Nursing program and have not taken the nclex. Its no ones fault but mine for letting life get in the way. I am now residing in Las vegas married with two boys and i still want to pursue my career in nursing. Is it too late to take the nclex?

You need to check with the board of nursing. Some have limits as to how long between graduation & your first attempt/deadline to pass the NCLEX. You may be required to return to school or take a refresher class. The BoN has final say
If eligible, at least consider an in person NCLEX prep class. Good luck
