I have moved your post into a thread of it's own and into the international forum as you will get a better response there.

Welcome
Depending on country of birth you will be affected by retrogression only some countries will have a longer wait than others.

I just checked the latest Visa Bulletin a couple of days ago, aren't all EB-3 applications right now are "U" or undertermined? For EB-2 Philippines is current and so are other countries aside from India and China who have a date posted (which I cannot remember right now). I did not check EB-1.

Nurses in general come under EB3 and currently all are U, things will not change until the new visa year starts in Oct and even then dates for Philippines and rest of world is expected to stay at early 2006. If you have only just started the process or even not started then you have a long wait in front of you at the moment. You can not AOS unless visas are current and that I doubt will happen for many years

Long wait, as in how long Silverdragon? Thank you.
As if depends on country of birth then who knows how long. PIC countries have the biggest demand on visas so expect them countries to be looking at a few years or even longer. Things may change for nurses in the future, they may do something similar to schedule A and nurses are fast tracked again but they may not bring something back.

Even if nurses are fast-tracked, there are still many that are already under the petitioning process, and they should get a visa first/.
There is not an unlimited supply of visas; never has been and never will be for any profession.
There is also a limit per year of the number of green cards that are issued per country in normal situations and that has not increased. Some countries have many more applicants than there are visas available and it goes by country of birth, not the passport that one holds now or where they are a resident of. Only by what is actually on the birth certificate.
The US State Dept put everything on hold until the next fiscal year starts which is October 1, there are no visas available now as they do not have any more and why you are not seeing any movement with dates.
Nurses are normally under the EB-3 category.
EB-2 is for those that hold the Master's degree and are hired for a job that requires the Master's for entry level for that job. You usually do not see foreign nurses getting hired for these jobs without experience first in the US.
EB-1 is a for those that have doctorates for the most part.
India has so many citizens with Master's degrees that the EB-2 for them is about the same as the EB-3, years from now.
