hi!!! I have received a package enclosed are the CRNE application form and the grad nurse license form. the thing is, i don't know what step to take next. i mean, if I intend to take the exam around June 2009 and plan to be in Canada around Feb, what do i do first? By the way, I am currently in the Philippines, and the province of Saskatchewan sent me the package a week ago. I just don't know whether I need to apply for a visa or what. Please help me

Hi Jafrn, thank you for your reply....If it does answer my question? not really...hehe What i meant was, besides me passing the exam, i DID/have registered with them last first week of March. But what they're releasing or can be released now is just the certification that you have passed the exam. And they won't accept the CRNBC application form for Licence verification unless you hold the license card itself which the releasing of all license card starts yet approximately 5-6 months from now(accdg. to PRC staff)...For me , thats too much of a wait. (If i have no choice , i would have to) But going back to my question, is there now way to fast track this? HAs anyone tried applying with special consideration? I dont mind paying additional fees with PRC (if there is such a thing) if there is a fast track section. I just dont have that luxury of time to wait for 5-6 months.. Im just trying my luck here and see if theres anyone who had/has the same dilemma as me.

You would have to contact the PRC to see if they can fast track it but from what I have read about the PRC the answer is probably No. (probably high demand as most are looking at leaving the Philippines)

Hi ATzrn:

I have my permanent resident card or what others call as PR card. And only have more or less a year to get my citizenship. Im trying to make it on the Oct. exam not because of my entry status but because they might change the 2010 exam to multiple choice with essay type questions. Currently, its all multiple choice. Hope that helps.

thanks for the reply. You mean, you have been there as PR, and went home here to study and take the board exam? Oh no! I am planning to apply for immigrant visa, too. Just couldnt decide what to do first, visa or College of Nursing assessment first. Hope you can help me with this...

If you plan to apply for immigrant visa, check the website of www.cic.gc.ca . There is a long wait, i know coz my cousin has applied two years ago and haven't gotten it yet. I would suggest that you take time to read the reqts in CRNBC (presuming you want to take the nursing exam in BC). just search the website. From there, youll see the requirements for International students. Regardless that i have a PR card, because my education is from the Phil., i have to go thru the process for "international students"..Not to discourage you , but i think you can't even apply without your English test passing score. They accept IELTS and TOEFL, etc. At best, check their website. Its a process and would take longer than most people think. I got my PR card years way back. I think the steps to get PR card is more different that it used to be and like i mentioned earlier, not easy. Just check their website. No harm in trying.

Hi Silverdragon,

How do I eligible to sit for CRNE in Cnada? What are the basic requirements?I know BSN is mandatory. If I graduate from US with BSN,Can I request the board of province for sitting CRNE ? Do I need NCLEX from US to be eligible to sit for CRNE?

As has been stated many times already, you do not apply to sit for the CRNE, you apply for registration with the regulatory body of registered nurses in the province where you wish to live. Successful writing of the CRNE is part of the process of becoming registered. You must pass the licensing examination in the country where you have obtained your nursing education in order to be considered eligible to register in any of the provinces in Canada. That means that if you receive a BSN from a university in the US, you must first pass the NCLEX before being permitted to write the CRNE and be eligible for Canadian registration. And BSN is the minimum for entry to practice. Every bit of the information I've just written can be found in several places on this site, so please read the pertinent threads. You will find that virtually ALL of your questions have already been asked and answered.

I really appreciate for your reply. It helps me!Thanks again
