Are there any resources to learn how to do LTC admissions?? Such as where to document and what does on mar and tar etc?How to verify the orders what you fax to pharmacey etc? Trying to put a resource book together for new nurses. Thanks Zar

Every facility has different ways of doing it. If you are currently employed at a facility, I'm sure the instructions are in the policy and procedure book.Luckily at the facility that I work at, the nurse supervisor does all that.

You are lucky. With a skilled unit tied into ICF, we have a revolving door of admits on a moments notice. Life would be so nice if the supervisor would do the admitting since there's rarely enough time in a day to complete everything WITHOUT an admit, much less with one. Each facility has a policy on admissions.
