Can someone tell me the steps to taking off orders for an admission in long term care. Where each thing goes, where it should be documented etc. Are there any sites or books to help?
  2. Are there any resources to learn how to do LTC admissions?? Such as where to document and what does on mar and tar etc?How to verify the orders what you fax to pharmacey etc? Trying to put a resource book together for new nurses. Thanks Zar
  3. They weill reimburse if i stay for six months. Meantime costs me 1300.00 for this coorifice. I forgot to mention, i was a LPN before RN for 5 years. Zar
  4. I am a RN who graduated in 2003, went directly to a ADON position due to having 24 years in management before nursing. I was trained in this position. I am now trying to get into hospital nursing, since i feel i missed out on many things. The hospitals want me to take a refresher coorifice. I have been out of nursing for two years. Refresher coorifices i thought werwe for people out many years. I have not forgotten stuff, just never worked in a hospital. These are tree and four month classes.I thought when you applied for a job, you were taught on the job, not have to go back to school and clinicals again. Please advise.Zar
  5. What type of pre employment pharmacology test is given before you are hired by a hospital? Is there some sort of stand test used?Getting a job in a Lehigh valley Hospital in Pa. Thank you for your help.
  6. I was told before i get hired i need to take a medication exam. What drugs are tested on the exam. I would like to pass it. They would not tell me which ones to study???Zar
  7. Is there somewhere i can look that gives the steps to doing monthly physician order recaps correctly?

D.O.N. mentioned we need to do a 672. Can you please explain what this is?
  9. Thank you so much. Zar
  10. I am sure you did fine. I finally passed, and so will you. They like driving us crazy, that is why the wait as if school was not bad enough! Good luck to you. Zar
  11. Just passed boards last week. Was a LPN for six years. It is for 24 weeks in a trauma one hospital. They also pay you and you go through all the unita learning.Must agree to stay for one year after training.Or pay it all back. What are your thought?Zar
  12. What are some good questions to ask an employer when i interview. I just became a R.N. this week?? What units do you think are ok to start on? I have applied to a trauma one hospital. They have a critical care 24 week intership, that qualifies me to work everywhere for critical care, as long as i work for them a year. Thoughts please.Zar
  13. I am a new RN this past week, and i have checked into the trauma one hospital as far as what they offer. They offer a 24-26 week intership for critical care, after which you can work icu, ccu, step downs, surgical icu etc. It is free if you agree to work there for one year, otherwise it is out of this world for pricing. What are your thoughts about this???Zar
  14. You have no reason to be humiliated. No matter how much you study or how good you were in school, prepares you for the nclex in my opionion. If you are stressed, if your mind is somewhere else, if you over studied, if you tried to read into questions, if you forget strategies you will fail. There are many reasons to fail. Has nothing to do with being dumb, or stupid nor a bad nurse.I took the test several times. My scores wer 86,265,265,75 and 75. You can fail at 75 does not mean you passed at all. 265 means you were border line however. I never gave up and i was a LPN for 6 years. Every time i did the test i froze, maybe frightened of it i do not know why exactly. I knew the material but drew a load of blanks.I had folks tell me give up, it was not meant to be etc. Bull. Giving up is easy, hanging in there is the struggle. You will pass and you can do this. I also am not in my twenties, lost some brain cells there haha...so you will do it to. Rest assured the best will happen for you. I passed nclex and i am proud that it taught me alot along the way. Never, ever give up and never let it get you down.Dust yourself off, no more pity party and change your strategy. I am rooting for you and if i can help, e mail me private. You will make a great R.N.Zar
  15. Congrats!Great feeling, i passed yesterday too. Zar
