I am a new RN this past week, and i have checked into the trauma one hospital as far as what they offer. They offer a 24-26 week intership for critical care, after which you can work icu, ccu, step downs, surgical icu etc. It is free if you agree to work there for one year, otherwise it is out of this world for pricing. What are your thoughts about this???Zar

It sounds like an okay deal to me. A 6-month intership is pretty long, and it's only a 1-year committment. If it's a hospital you want to work at, and staying for one year is doable, I say go for it. The critical care internship that I am looking at is 3-4 months and a 2-year committment. Also a payback if you don't stay the two years, but not outrageous. That's my basis for comparison.

I would say go for the job! That is a nice long orientation. As long as you go into it ready to learn you should be fine.

Mine was five months long for a two year committment. Ours doesn't have a clause about paying them back if you leave before the two years. I may leave a couple months early if I get into the CRNA school I'm hoping for. I don't think it'll be a big deal.
Anyway, yes, that's a great deal! Go for it.
