Hi guys
Is Albine a good city to work? I'm not familiar with TX thats why I am asking this question. Why are people interested in working in Albine? How are the climate, culture and demographics? Thanks

You might be referring to one of two places:
1. Abilene, Texas
2. Alpine, Texas
So, which one is it? By the way, neither city is particularly desirable. They're both desolate West Texas towns, although Abilene has more of a military presence. People are interested in working in these places because their hospitals are still hiring when the hospitals in other cities have either slowed or stopped their hiring.

Abilene is a great little city... lived there for a while when I was younger. Geographically, it is sort of 'where West Texas begins' but within easy driving distance of DFW area in case you are jones-ing for major shopping. There are two nice lakes nearby, plenty of outdoor activities. Very reasonable housing costs. Dyess AFB (a SAC base) is there, so there is a strong military presence. Three private colleges & a satellite campus of Texas Tech are located there.
Funny but true - Texas has 'local option' liquor .. which means that municipalities or counties can choose whether or not to permit liquour sales. Abilene was a 'dry city' when we lived there .... no alcohol sold outside private clubs. However, there is a brisk business at Pinkies liquor store just 'over the line' as well as within a teeny little town-within-a-town close to Hardin-Simmons University (popularly known as "hardly sinning" by the locals - LOL).
