RCC Nursing Spring 2024 (ADN & CEP))

Published

Hello everyone,

If you are submitting an application from June to July for RCC's CEP or traditional ADN for Spring 2024, then I encourage you to ask on THIS thread. My hope is that this thread can be a great resource for fellow applicants -- I know how much I appreciated having words of wisdom and fellow peers as I apply. Let's support each other as much as possible.

A little about me: I'm taking Bio 50B and Soc 1 this Spring, and I have yet to take the TEAS. I have a bachelor's degree, special circumstances, dosage calc class, and I'm bilingual.

What vaccines are they requiring? I only applied to the ADN program but I want to get a head start hopefully I get in!

TB, Tdap, MMR, Varicella, Polio, and Hep B, COVID, Influenza (it says optional compliance for this one). Good luck, hopefully you get in and hear back soon!

I have a questin guys, what do you think? I was accepted into another school's ADN program, but RCC CEP is my top choice. In the provisional acceptance email it states my application was sent to CSUSB for their admissions decision, and that the CSUSB process takes several weeks before I should expect to hear back from them. I'm so afraid and paranoid that for some reason CSUSB may reject me. So my question is, when should I tell the other school that I am no longer planning on going to their program? Should I wait until I receive an acceptance email from CSUSB? I don't want to give up my spot at the other ADN program just in case for some reason I'm rejected by CSUSB. But I also feel bad waiting so many weeks until I hear back from them before telling the other school I no longer plan on attending because that's taking time away from another student receiving their acceptance.

I talked to my counselor about this if I get accepted to ADN and he recommended me taking the for sure seat in the program for ADN

Especially since you have a for sure seat in a program. You could be waiting until the second week of school to know if you get in. But I would meet w a counselor asap

Thank you Mmend for sharing with me! I think I might just wait until I get confirmation of acceptance from CSUSB before dropping out of the other program. I think I should also meet with my counselor as well for their feedback. Thank you for support!

Good idea. Don't drop out just yet from either program. See how long you have before accepting the ADN spot. But keep both options open.

You're welcome. Are you an alternate: we just talked to someone today about alternate spots

No I'm not an alternate, I was given a spot in the RCC CEP program by RCC, but in their provisional acceptance email, it stated they have now sent my application to CSUSB for them to process and make a decision on. So I'm just paranoid CSUSB may find something wrong and deny me. I feel like I should be fine, but I don't want to get too excited LOL! I'm kind of thinking for the most part if RCC accepts you into the CEP program, then so will CSUSB, they just have to process it separately since it's two different schools and two different programs. IDK. I think I will try to drop into open office hours tomorrow.
