Hello! I thought I'd start this thread for anyone who is applying for the RN program at Riverside City College for Fall 2019! Let's all chat! :)

Is this specific to the CEP or can regular ADN students join, too?

I mean I don't mind regular ADN students joining, because we are all in this together. I don't think the others will mind either, it seems like many of us have friends who were accepted into the ADN portion anyways. Plus some of us CEP have done things that you guys might have questions for that can be answered faster than being on here. The CEP students just have to take one extra class compared to you guys.

I got in tooooo ?????? I cannot believe it. I almost gave up. I also have to decide between Valley and Rcc. I have no idea how I am going to pick one over the other.

Can someone please help with which would be a better option?

I got accepted into both as well now! RCC and Valley, however I have already accepted Valley because 1. RCC took too damn long 2. Location, Valley is much closer to me, my kids school and my job 3. I already attended Valley for my pre reqs so I have a lot of resources 4. Plus with RCC doing their new CEP program idk how that will affect the program 5. I hate the 215 fwy (horrible) 6. Where will clinical be done? for Valley I know it’s ARMC and Loma Linda. 7. RCCs parking is the worst!! LoL 8. I know many awesome nurses who went to Valley 9. Valley also has a contract with APU to jump start RN-BSN in the summer with 10% discount if u attend Valley 10. I already started the process for Valley LoL, spent a lot of money already ?

I am so glad to hear all that you just said. I also accepted my spot at valley because waiting around for RCC was not pleasing. I agree with all that you said. I have been hearing that Rcc is better funded so they have newest equipment and stuff.

I guess it all doesn’t matter because more than anything I should focus on convenience. I don’t like the 215 and have to be practical about this than emotional. So hard to not pick RCC with their reputation and all.

RCC’s terrible parking & not knowing how the new changes will affect the program are my two biggest concerns. Other than that I love RCC, took all of my prereqs there so I know the campus, & have heard quite a few people say to pick RCC over Chaffey lol but still a tough decision. I started the process with Chaffey & spent money too ??

I know it’s so hard to give up RCC knowing it’s reputation and that they have the latest equipments. For me I don’t know if the commute is going to be an issue in the long run.

CEP students,

Have you guys received any information about the boot camp yet? All I received was a short 'revision' email about the date. Did you guys get an email giving us more information about the boot camp or upcoming stuff?

I think the only real advantage we’ve had on this process is to get the ball rolling with vaccines, physicals, etc and things regarding CSUF. We haven’t been given anything official regarding intake or boot camp. Someone called and heard that intake is July 10. We only know about boot camp because of the error message that went out.
