Wow, 90% is amazing! Congrats! I've been studying here and there and am planning to really keep my head down and study hard in the couple of weeks leading up to the test. I'm trying to put my focus on my Poli Sci class right now. How were the math and grammar portions? I'm most nervous about those ? I've scored A's in those classes, but I need to brush up on the differences between adverbs, pronouns, adjectives, etc. It's also been a little while since my last algebra class.

Thank you! I was SO nervous, but I'm glad it went well! Math was suuuper easy. Definitely do the ATI practice problems if you can (cross multiplication, solving for x, etc.). I found that the best way to study for it was just drilling myself with a bunch of problems. I was actually the most nervous for the English section too! It's been so long since I had to think about adverbs, prepositional phrases, etc. It's also the shortest section, so you really can't miss a lot :( surprisingly, I did the best in this section and math lol. Again, the ATI lessons helped a lot with the grammar. They gave a lot of example sentences.

Do you plan on waiting to be invited to take the TEAS at RCC, or are you going to just take it somewhere else?

That is so awesome! Congrats! Do you mind sharing what your scores were on the practice exams? I took practice exam A without doing any studying & got a 76% so I’m hoping that the actual exam is easier. Between that & studying hard for the next 3 weeks, I am hoping to score at least a 90% as well lol

Thank you! I took practice exam A without studying just to give myself a baseline score and check to see what I need to start practicing. I scored an 80%. I then studied and did practice problems on everything they recommended for about a week and then took practice test B. I scored an 88%. My goal was to get a 90 or above, so after taking those two practice tests I was freaking out lol. I did 2 more practice tests in the Mometrix book, which helped. The actual exam was a lot easier than any of the practice tests I took. I feel like they purposely make them harder so you study more? hahaha.

When do you plan on taking yours?

I'm hoping to be invited to take it at RCC. I have a 4.0 in all of my sciences, so I should, right??? ? Where did you take your test? I figure if I don't get invited for some reason, I'll try to take it at Loma Linda. Every other place on the TEAS site is booked up before the due date.

Oh yeah you have a great science GPA so I'm sure you will get invited! I live in San Diego, so I ended up taking it at the University of Phoenix. They booked up really quick though! A lot of the programs I'm applying to want the TEAS to be completed before you submit your apps, so I had to take it beforehand.

Would you mind if I ask where else you are applying to? I'm putting all of my eggs in one basket here, which might end up biting me in the ass.

I’m definitely going to buy another practice test. How was the science portion? Is it really in depth on A&P? That’s what I keep hearing. I have a 4.0 science GPA so I’m hoping to take it at RCC in mid Feb!

Science wasn't too bad! Definitely make sure to study A&P and the overall functions of each system. I was fresh out of finishing my anatomy class, so that helped a lot. I used khan academy videos to review a lot of physio stuff too. Also some basic chem. Does RCC have a limit on the amount of students they invite?

That's a good question! I have no idea how many are invited to take the TEAS. The application confirmation email just says that those with the highest science GPAs are invited. Not sure if there is a limit. ?‍♀️

Update: the SON powerpoint on RCC's website says that 120 applicants with the highest science GPAs will be invited.

I will be sure to brush up on it, thanks so much! I'm getting so anxious, I just want to get the TEAS over with lol. How many points are you going in with?

Ah I know how you feel! Hopefully they send out invites soon! From what I calculated, I'm going in with about 78-80 points Hopefully that's competitive enough...
