Ramp in NJ- Why am I not surprised!!!!!!!

Published

I have been in Ramp program for close to 2 months now. Beside's my initial blood test being positive of PEth all my subsequent testings has been negative. Including hair, nails and 4 different urine(all different options).

Last week on July 9th they sent me for an evaluation for alcohol. The evaluator took a random UDS which was negative for alcohol. Her recommendation to Ramp was that at present time I don't need any further outpatient weekly treatment, which Ramp over preceded their decision forcing me to go for weekly treatment which I agreed on.

July 10th I ended up having a confrontation with my facilitator regarding Ramp's forceful decision and being very upset/angry.

July 12th I had option 5 urine drug screen which I found out this morning is positive. Surprise!!!! Surprise!!!!!

I went to Quest diagnostic this morning and was told that I don't have any record of me ever being there for urine drug screen. I showed them my donor copy and requested further investigation as why am I not in the computer that I was there on July 12th for my screening?

The lab technician gave me some further information to call, which I did. I am non-existent in their computer. However, I have positive result from FSS which is Ramp's result lab.

I further called in all my other lab testing sites where my results were negative and sure behold I was present in all their computer information.

Also, even if we are paying for all our testing we don't have any access to our results except negative or positive. Which in itself is utter nonsense.

So my question is how did I disappear completely for my positive results yet was present in all other lab testing for my negative results ??? Very very fishy and highly unethical and illegal.

I called my lawyer this morning. Waiting for his response. This all is a nightmare to say the least:(((((

Yes paid restitution and did everything required of Florida state. Her driving privileges were restored it was 15 yrs prior

How did it take 15 years? Did a licensing application ask if she was arrested? Was she newly applying to NJ?

I seen everything in that program seriously.  Not making this up. It's not worth it, we worked so hard for our license. Even though I graduated I live a sober life, I'm scared. I was in the program for positive Marijuana on a pre employment had no clue they report it, I just thought they don't hire you I waited 30 days after smoking to test and was honest. They could have said don't risk it but no they said don't worry. Once I got into Ramp I thought no Marijuana only I had no clue I had to abstain from everything (I was in denial also) and had wine in the first month of ramp. I got 5 yrs.

So no alcohol ever? You're not an alcoholic? I'm going to drink in moderation when I'm done.

That's your choice but I really don't recommend it. I have been supporting nurses since before RAMP even existed. Before RAMP it was an automatic 2 year license suspension  and I cannot tell you how many times people lost their license a 2nd time because they were in denial. I don't know your circumstances but if RAMP showed up in your life there is an issue somewhere and drinking is a bad choice

This thing scared me straight, traumatic. Because you never know who can report you . All it takes is a phone call. They run a check they have access. Even nursing students who have any dui or drug related cases they won't be able to take the board until they do ramp. One girl worked in NJ went to throw out her garbage at her philadelphia residence on a rainy day was tipsy put the garbage in her trunk to bring it to the dumpster drove a block. The police gave her a ticket... 5 yrs in nj ramp had to do NJ rather then Penn because she worked in Jersey and Ramp trumps Pennsylvania monitoring.

What about the nurse who had a DUI 15 years prior? A new nurse?

There was a physician who was not using anything and he was reported for suspicious activities.  He got a 5 year monitoring agreement.  So it can and does happen sober or not. He was a med student. He sued the hospital and won 5 million but still had to do the monitoring agreement.   I'm playing it extra safe now. I don't have a SUD but for me the right choice is to live my life as I was before when this is over. I drink but rarely.  I never drink and drive. I hope this is my only rodeo

She wasn't a new nurse. In fact, she was practicing in Florida the whole time. It will be your only rodeo!! It goes under lesson learned. I know some people go back to living their life prior to, some people were grateful because they really had an issue, and a lot of people was so impacted by the whole ordeal they said it's not worth it like me.

Can I ask how specifically she got popped in New Jersey but escaped a monitoring agreement in Florida? NY hope is that I learn all the ways people end up in a monitoring program and mostly avoid those situations while still going back to my previous life.

Not too sure if she did or not. It was 15 yrs ago and plus some people may have got missed. New Jersey has the strictest monitoring program and will catch up with you one way or another. Whether you are a NJ nurse or coming to NJ to practice and have a record you're doing Ramp. One lady in my group was reported to Ramp for documentation. She worked in L&D and a baby was given wrong dose of medication and was not documented tried to cover it up. Her management reported her to Ramp it was so weird. It could have been handled in house. No alcohol or drug use suspected. she was suppose to do one year but there was such a delay with her license being reactivated and finding a job to their satisfaction because she couldn't go back to her dept and she was older and med surg was too much for her. So she found a little clinic so she got out in 2 years to fulfill her terms of her contract. Documentation?? I was literally in shock with the things I observed. Anyone who thinks they can fight the process telling you it never happened. I wrote governor Murphy because Marijuana was legalized so I was hoping that I get discharged. LOL that was a joke the governor office reached out to NJBON and the board sent me a letter stating whatever RAMP says that what I must do. That's when I knew that what Ramp says goes according to BON

Thank you.  I'll be sure to avoid New Jersey.  I think all states defer to their respective monitoring programs.

Few lucky people avoid this by paying a lawyer for the name of the "right " evaluator.

My attorney was so scares. When I noticed that her approach with Ramp was calculated, I lost confidence. When covid happened she was suppose to talk with the BON. I never heard from her again till 2 months before I completed the program and wanted me to update her so she can close my file 3.5 yrs later. Never responded

Definitely not in denial.  I am not in RAMP.  Don't have a SUD  people without an alcohol disorder can drink alcohol and be nurses

NJ is very strict because of the Cullen Law. Everyone should know all that terrible man did and you will understand why Nj is so strict. Granted they take it to the max extreme but that is why
