Published

Hello! With the Spring Cohort Application opened on Sept 18th, I wanted to start a topic here! For everyone to start off: share what units you are applying for! I will be doing the PICU & ED.

 Best of luck to everyone!!

Thank you! Best of luck on your interview if you haven't done it yet!! ?

Standard questions: Tell me about yourself, why peds, why rady's.

They asked me a lot of behavioral questions: Tell me about a time with a difficult situation. What are some of your best qualities? Tell me about a time you made a mistake.

One question that really stood out to me was if a physician was pressuring you to do something you weren't comfortable with, how would you respond or how would you deal with it?

Overall, not too bad of an experience.

I interviewed with Medical last week and had those same questions! Unfortunately I never heard back ?. I wish they would at least tell you if they weren't interested!!

Did they tell you when you'd expect to hear back? I was told by the end of November because the unit was still doing interviews. Rady's did take some time to let us know for interviews though, I feel like it would be around the same for decisions. Hang in there?

I had an interview the the hemoc unit on Wednesday and didn't feel that great about it afterwards, however I got an email about an hour after asking for references. I was wondering for those of you who have interviewed if you also received an emailing requesting references shortly after your interview? Not sure if the email is a good sign or if they sent it to everyone after interviews.

I think its a good sign! That's what I was referring to above- they didn't ask for my references so even a we have decided to pursue other candidates would have been appreciated...LOL

Has anyone gotten a rejection email yet? Like I don't know anything. Did the contacted via email or call for interviews?

For mine they contacted by phone. I just got my references request (I interviewed last Thursday), so sometimes it's just delayed. This is my third cycle of applying - they will send an email at the end saying thank you for applying and to try again. Typically the units themselves unfortunately don't notify you if you weren't selected. You can ask by email and they are pretty responsive. I really wish they'd be more clear on where they are at in the process!

Hi have you been asked for references in the previous times you have applied to Radys?

The first time I did not interview due to personal reasons (I chose to wait for the next cohort). The second time I interviewed for CTICU and I did not receive an invitation to give my references. In that case, I reached out about two weeks after my interview and found out I wasn't selected. This time I got interviewed by Medical last week and just got my references email last night.

Thanks for replying I hope you get the position in medical!

Interviewed for CTICU yesterday. It was harder than expected and honestly I couldn't tell if they liked my answers or not. Does anyone know if we should be hearing back about references this upcoming week or will it be after thanksgiving?
