Hey y'all!
Just wanted to start a thread for those of us applying to Radys this fall. I applied for ED, PICU and NICU!
Good luck to everyone!
Jessica Werner said:I was offered a job as a pca a few months ago, but I couldn't make the new hire orientation because it landed on a day I had lecture so I wasn't able to start. I was then told to apply for the new grad cohort by the management that initially wanted to hire me, so I had a heads up. A lot of my friends have all had great experience with Rady new grad program and they have loved their jobs. I believe the critical care placements are most competitive but I am open to all units just to get my foot in the door.
Thank you for this! I applied late in the cycle last time because I didn't know it was a rolling review. I'm hopeful this time! I applied to Rady, CHLA, and Seattle children's but my partner lives in SD and we'd really like to not move. I'll do it for the right experience but ???
Which units did you select? I agree being open to different units is important and a strong choice!

what is a rolling review?
KaleRN said:Rolling review means they go through applications as the come in rather than waiting until the application closing to start review
Correct. So I had applied toward the end of the cycle and they already filled the positions I asked for. They aren't doing that this time though!

I applied to NICU, PICU, and ED! I hope we hear something soon. I really will be happy if ANY unit reaches out. What units did you choose?

I imagine it's comparable to like college applications where part of it is random. There were a few nurses at Rady's I talked to that came from the new grad program that said they didn't make it in their first or even second round of applications. Stay persistent - you've got this!
You are so kind! I hope you get the units you applied for!
