Rady Children's New Grad Program Fall 2023

Published

Hey y'all!

Just wanted to start a thread for those of us applying to Radys this fall. I applied for ED, PICU and NICU!

Good luck to everyone!

Does anyone know how many people applied last time? I know UCSD was transparent about how many applied for their Summer cohort - I'm really hoping fewer applied for this cohort at Rady's! How is everyone feeling?

I'm not sure how many applied. I'm hoping we hear something soon. I'm feeling good about getting an interview for any unit but really crossing fingers for nicu ?

Agreed! I hope they reach out soon - I will keep you in my prayers that you be offered a position in the NICU! One of my referrals is an interviewer on the panel for that unit. She's a wonderful nurse and so welcoming; she'll definitely make the interview feel less intimidating!!

Aww! Thank you for that! I hope we hear soon because I've been applying everywhere and getting ghosted LOL

Yeah, that's a thing I guess ? I wish the hospitals would be better at telling applicants where they're at with things. Is this your first round of cohort applications?

Yep! I graduate in about 7 weeks. I've applied to all the new grads.. just waiting to hear back. What about you?

Congratulations! That's so exciting! This is my second round - I applied to UCSD, Scripps, and Rady's for their Summer cohorts and only heard back from Rady's. These were before I finished my preceptorship and extra certs and passed NCLEX. This round I did UCSD, Scripps, Sharp, and Rady's. Which hospital would you say is your top pick? The wait to hear anything is HORRIBLE!!

hi. did you have an interview with Radys for the Summer cohort?

This is my second round applying for all of the hospitals and I didn't hear anything from anyone for the Summer cohorts. I graduated and passed my NCLEX in April. Really hoping I at least land an interview at Radys this round. I'm starting to get anxious to hear something LOL

I did interview with Rady's - I'm not sure how the interview really went though. I withdrew my application because my brother went back in as a patient and I felt it best to be there for him as a sister and not another nurse on the floor. I'm hopeful the October cohort is the perfect combination of getting an offer and it being right time! Congratulations on passing your exam, I'll keep you in my prayers as well for interviews and a position!

Thank you so much! I interviewed for medical - what floors are you looking at for this cohort?

I'm hoping for either the PICU because I have over 3 years of PCT experience there or the behavioral health unit because  that's what I currently do as an RN right now. ?

I've gotten ghosted everywhere too! It's wild. I feel like I'm competitive but I guess not LOL! This is my second round applying to scripps and ucsd but my first for radys. I'm internal for scripps and they aren't hiring any new grads for ICU, still waiting to hear about mch.
