Raccoons, Cats, Dogs, Possums, Mice, Rats, Bats - most warm blooded mammals can transmit the disease though it is rarer is ome than others, I believe.
I sustained a raccoon bite recently - and took the shots.
Does anyone know how long the immunity lasts?
As well as other illnesses carried by Raccoons? Developed systemic sepsis within 12 hours of the bite.

Actually, I don't think rodents transmit rabies. I'll look it up.
We had a guy in our er need rabies immunization because of a rabid donkey bite. Go figure.
