Hi guys!!
Just wanted to start a forum for the upcoming fall application period: August 15th 2025-September 12th 2025. That way we can help each other with application questions or keep each other updated on acceptance, ineligibility, and rejection.
Wishing everyone the best!! 🙂

I have immunity for MMR and varicella but my vaccination is over 10 years old. Does that mean I have to redo my vaccination? Also, I have history of a negative TB test and just completed another one. Do I still have to do another one in 7-21 days?
My doctor said I need the Hep B vaccine but it's over the span of many months so I'm just assuming that as long as I have the first one done and get the others in the time frame I should be good right?
Hi, so long as you have immunity for them I'm pretty sure you're all good. The one you need every 10 years is the td booster.
As for the TB test, I believe IF you did a 2 step tb series within the past year then you just need to submit those. If you only took just one within the past year, I don't think it will suffice. They want 2 back to back within 7-21 days of each other. Someone correct me if I'm wrong 😅 you can also email the nursing department to double check!
As for the Hep B, is it because you don't have immunity or because you never received it? Because I did not have immunity, however I had the entire series as a child. So I opted for the 2 series one that's done 28-31 days apart. But yes, I do believe we should be good so long as we show proof that we are in progress with getting the repeated series. I emailed them to double check that for us all, but they have not gotten back to me yet 😕
Hi guys,
Congrats to everyone who has been accepted into the program! I was accepted as well, but getting nervous about my decision.
I read a thread here from the RHC Spring 2024 cohort talking about how a lot of the older professors have left and the newer ones aren't as good. Additionally, one stat I didn't consider came up in the thread as well, which was the program attrition rate. For example, RHC is about 16-25% for the past 5 years while PCC has been 1-8% for the past 5 years. 16-25% is pretty high in comparison to most of the programs listed on the official CA BRN .gov website. I'm wondering if there are any current RHC ADN students here who can shed some light on why that might be. I'm wondering is the program just really difficult? Is it the new professors or professors in general? Or could it be something out of our (students) hands like faculty shortage or limited clinical site availability? Any insight would be really appreciated!!
BTW- for anyone still looking to get their Hospital Fire and Life Safety cards I found this one https://fireandsafetyeducation.com since the one that was recommended didn't have any group classes available.
This one is $40, but with student ID it's $20! Looks like there are still some availability for 11/12, 11/15, and 11/20 at the moment.
I was reluctant to sign up for it since the website "looks" kinda... I dunno how to say it... but it's just like Google forms, a @gmail for the email account, and pay via Venmo, ApplePay, or Zelle. It has really good reviews from Google though and the instructor seems super legit according to the website. Anyway, my class is tomorrow afternoon and I can report back if anything. $20! ☺️

I just received an email today that I was accepted as an alternate. They sent the information for the orientation and to-do lists. Does anyone know the likelihood of alternates getting in?
where did they send you the email? I was told I was on the alternate but no extra information was given

On the email it stated I was an alternate and it had attachments on the email saying to confirm the spot and also to purchase castle branch before November 10th. And other information regarding the orientation on those attachments.

Is anyone still waiting to hear back on acceptance or denials.I reached out to the nursing program and they said they are still reviewing applications. I am just wondering why its taking too long
Didn't receive an email with rejection/acceptance either LOL. just assumed it was a rejection. Crazy that they said they're still reviewing, it's been over a month since acceptances were sent out.
To those going to orientation, anyone know if there is a dress code? If not, would anyone like to share what attire is deemed appropriate?
Thank you!

Have they ever gotten back to you? I had the same issue regarding Hep B no immunity!

Yes they did! They told me not to worry as they know how the process works for those of us who have to redo the series OR get a booster and a 2nd titer. She said to just get my booster and lab work done by the required dates (as in the timeline of 28 days apart from booster + titer, castle branch keeps dates and deadlines for your repeat boosters and 2nd titer) and I'm good 🙂

Hi, I also didn't have immunity to Hep B and I went to CVS and asked for the 2 series Hep B vaccines. I have already had my initial series, hence why I opted for the 2 series one because it is a shorter process whereas the full repeat series is 3 vaccines for 6 months or something like that? It's much longer. You would have to ask your provider which one they think is best for you, but I went for the 2 series to meet deadlines.
