There is a new reality TV show starting up here on Channel Nine, called "Nurses". Has it started in the other states? Do you know if it is local, NZ, Brit or US? I really want to see what it is all about. I hope it displays the job properly. Who knows, it may bring ppl into the workforce - or scare them away!

They said on the ad that it was a NZ show.
Good. NZ shows are pretty good and to the point. And it is about time there was a programme on nurses! Not that I'm biased or anything...

Jay, there is/was/has been, a show on the community channel for some time and I believe it's titled; "Nurses". It's filmed here in Australia. The show I'm referring to is filmed by nurses. They shadow a nurse as she/he goes about their work and interact with the nurse during the course of the filming and ask questions etc.
I don't know if this is the show you're referring to, but it was quite good.
I haven't seen it in a long time now as I don't watch all that much TV.

The NZ show is a lot like channel 7's "Medical Emergency" except that it focuses on the nursing staff in a busy Aukland hospital (that apparently doesn't have a plastics team because in the only episode I've seen so far they had to send a badly lacerated LOL elsewhere).
Based on one episode it looks like it gives a realistic picture of what ED's like - violent patients strung out on drugs, patients who lie about their histories and conditions, nurses from a variety of backgrounds and a wealth of experience... I really enjoed it.
The Aussie nurses show is on channel 31 and is filmed and produced by nurses. Whenever I remember it I feel guilty for not watching but the production values annoy me and it doesn't show up in TV Week!
