Are you a RN?.

To be eligible to take the Canadian Nurse exam, you must have graduated from a nursing school whose curriculum is comparable to that of accepted and approved schools of nursing.

If you are a doctor, you will need nursing school to be a nurse.

Similarly, if I wanted to be a doctor, I would have to graduate from medical school.

There are no short cuts for either route.

Shakeel, You need to contact the College of Nurses in the province you are interested in immigrating to. Most have websites. The College of Nurses of Ontario's is http://www.cno.org

thanx for being there.

i appreciate ur reply and the time spared.

actually, what i am trying to inquire is that while i do a qualifing exam for nursing or md, can i get started and earning my bread and butter thru some other job in the medical field, preferably?

as an aid nurse or assistance etc?

in canada we have patient service attendants but you must do the training before getting hired.

Unfortunately if you don't have the right credentials from a canadian school you can't be hired even with your education and experience.

Some of the attendant training isn't that long in comparison but you still need to e certified to work anywhere related to patient care.

I can only imagine your frustration but I do believe that anyone who is considering immigration to a foreign country should make sure they do their homework before getting here. It may seem cruel that your education and experience is not recognized but every country has rules.

You cannot sit for the nursing exams if you were not a nurse...the licencing body will not except medical training as that has nothing to do with nursing so that cannot be a consideration unless you complete or have a Bachelors Degree in Nursing.

If in fact you are a doctor you must seek help from that association, it is my understanding that just recently the medical association has become a lot more enthusiastic about helping foreign doctors complete any necessary training and licencing.

There is no place in the patient care area that doesn't require some kind of training and credentialing.

I wish you the best of luck.
