quinsigamond community college; how does the program run?

Published

Hi. I'm on the waitlist for the nurse education evening program. However i can't get a straight answer from anyone at the college on how many days are clinical. I know one night is class and from my impression, maybe 2-3 days of 10 hour clinical. I was also informed that you don't know if you have day or evening clinical till that semester? My tentative start date is Fall 2017. By then I will have a 1 year old and 3 year old that I will need to find child care for. However it seems that is impossible to be plan ahead of time in this program. Is anyone in this program or went through the program who can give me an idea of time commitment. Thanks for reading and hopefully responding!

Hi did you end up taking the early spot? Good luck. I hope to apply sometime this fall how we I'll be taking medical microbiology at qcc this semester to get it out of the way!

Good luck this semester! If you can do it with 3 kids I know I can do it with one! All the hard work pays off. I am still studying the TEAS book trying to get my science grade up. I am also working with a math tutor for the math section. Reading and English are my strong points. I'll be taking the test soon I just want to be over prepared.

ill be taking my last non nursing class this semester at qcc micro. I want to get that out of the way. Please keep us updated on how the semester is going. I would love to talk to you more. I have a lot of questions just want more details of what your schedule is like ect. For example do you pick your schedule or do they just tell you what time the class and lab is? Then you pick the clinical time.

good luck this semester!!!

Hi Becca,

Congrats! Your almost done with your prerequisites, that's awesome and will make it easier once you start. Hurry and take that TEAS test already...*joking I'm sure you'll do fine. I took the refresher TEAS math and science course from QCC it really helped too.

So to answer your question for the Nursing Evening program 1st semester you will be taking

NUR103-40

NUR104-40

Lab is included

Yes they tell you which day you will have lab and lecture.

Does anybody know if they have a waiting list for the regular LPN no evening and what is the score they are look for the teas ? I check their website but one 55% and the other says 50% .

thank you

LPN day or evening it is a 55% overall on the test. Not sure about the wait list. When I took microbiology fall 2016 one girl said she was on the day waitlist. At that point she had a 6 month wait . Not sure how long she had been previously waiting

How is the evening program going? What does your typical week look like?

Hi update for LPN the score is 50% that will change to 55% on September 1st 2017. I checked with a counselor.

Hi Ladies! I'll be starting the Nursing Evening this fall instead of Fall of 2017. I attended orientation in June and it was very informative. I really like their program. They seem very organized. What we were told was Monday will be lab and Tuesday is lecture from 4-10pm. We got to choose our clinical day/time. We had 3 options to choose from. Clinical is a 10hr shift. I choose the weekend clinical since my mother will be watching my kids. I believe their will be classes during the day as well, don't remember which semester. We were given several things to over in the book, and skills to learn, so we can be ready to get tested on the first day of class. I like to be prepared so I really liked that they gave us so much information on orientation day. I hope this helps!! Im super excited!! Good luck to both of you!!

Hello how is the program going for you? Did you do the advanced LPN-RN or the RN/ASN program?

Thanks Im starting the LPN-RN this fall 2017.

Hello ladies!

I'm in the RN/ASN accelerated. The program is extremely intense. Do you have experience as an LPN? Good luck with everything!!

Z

Hello Zazina23,

I guess you have a previous Bachelor degree.

I have been an LPN since October 2014.

Please can you reach me at [email protected]?

I will like to ask you questions about the program.

Please and thank you :)

@klincoln2005 : Are you still on the waitlist or you are already in the program?

Hi! I just got put on the wait list for the evening program, too. I won't be starting until next fall, but was wondering where to purchase the uniforms..
