Hi. I'm on the waitlist for the nurse education evening program. However i can't get a straight answer from anyone at the college on how many days are clinical. I know one night is class and from my impression, maybe 2-3 days of 10 hour clinical. I was also informed that you don't know if you have day or evening clinical till that semester? My tentative start date is Fall 2017. By then I will have a 1 year old and 3 year old that I will need to find child care for. However it seems that is impossible to be plan ahead of time in this program. Is anyone in this program or went through the program who can give me an idea of time commitment. Thanks for reading and hopefully responding!

Hi. I'm on the wait list for Qcc Nursing Evening of Fall 2017 as well. I agree no one in the advising center knows anything about the nursing program... I think clinicals are 2 days but I'm not sure. I think we get Fridays off...but once again not sure. If you sign in on the Q and go to courses offering and schedule well look up nursing classes it allows you to change the year...I tried going back a couple of years to 2013 to get an idea of the schedule.. This is what I found.. .M,W clinical 3-11 T,TH classes 3:55-10. I hope this helps a little...
I look forward to meeting you!! Take Care. Z

I am getting ready to apply to the evening program. The wait list is now till the fall of 2018. I also received very little information from the school and director. Kind of makes me more scared about the program. I also have a 2 year old so I understand wanting to plan in advance.
Hi Becca8754, they don't say much about anything. I spoke to the nursing coordinator and all she said about the schedule was free up your schedule from 3-11 M-F not necessarily will u been in school M-F. It varies from year to year. It's frustrating not knowing...
Thanks for the reply. And I believe evening courses can have morning class times? I guess it is hard for them to know anything till the hospital tells them the clinical times. Do you have any of the prerequisites complete? I have them all completed I am hoping this will lessen my stress level. Just focus on core nursing

Hi! I will be starting Lpn day program at qcc in Worcester sept this year! What they told us at orientation (they had both day and evening people attend), is that mon tues wed and thurs both day and evening is lecture/clinical/ lecture / clinical then for evening they will have a clinical on Saturday morning 6a-3p starting in November - and some Friday's will start up in November - they also said you get fined $200/day any missed clinical. No exceptions for missed time except being admitted to the hospital or immigration meetings that's it - we were
told have 3 back ups to child care and I am currently working on that myself 3 months early . Hope this helps
I also went to the health session at QCC they didn't give much info as to the times. I don't mind the Saturday day rotations. However more concerned that I will have to be at school during the days. I wish I knew for sure that Monday-Friday was just evenings :/ thanks for the info it's not easy being a mom! Best of luck to you :)
Hi Ladies! I'll be starting the Nursing Evening this fall instead of Fall of 2017. I attended orientation in June and it was very informative. I really like their program. They seem very organized. What we were told was Monday will be lab and Tuesday is lecture from 4-10pm. We got to choose our clinical day/time. We had 3 options to choose from. Clinical is a 10hr shift. I choose the weekend clinical since my mother will be watching my kids. I believe their will be classes during the day as well, don't remember which semester. We were given several things to over in the book, and skills to learn, so we can be ready to get tested on the first day of class. I like to be prepared so I really liked that they gave us so much information on orientation day. I hope this helps!! Im super excited!! Good luck to both of you!!
Oh wow you will be starting early that's great! I hope they allow people to pick what clinical time they want every year. Out of curiosity what times did they offer? I feel like I would of picked the Saturday too. I have one daughter who is two now. Are you nervous about going through nursing school with kids? I feel it will be very stressful. Keep us updated. I will be taking the TEAS in August very excited I have all the prerequisites done!
One thing I did want to mention is that they might put on the list to start on 2018 but not necessarily will you start in 2018. A good chunk of the classmates were supposed to start in 2017 and received acceptances letters to the 2016 class. I only waited about 11 months after passing my TEAS test to get into the Nursing-Evening program, which isn't bad for QCC.
So as for Clinicals offered were Saturday 6am-4pm, and 2 other days 1-11pm. I guess days/times vary from year to year. I have 3 kids, under the age of 8, so yes I'm extremely nervous. We have to stay motivated, positive, and focused! We can do this! Prepare yourself mentally, it will be extremely stressful, and sometimes you will want to quit, but you have to stay positive. Manage your time wisely, and make time to study. I completed all my prerequisites so I will only be taking Nursing classes, which makes it a little easier. Not sure if you bought the TEAS review book, that's what I used to study, and everything you need to know is in that book. I also bought the practice TEAS exams on the ATI website which were extremely expensive but worth it. Pace yourself on the TEAS test, I ran out of time on the math portion, but I did pass all portions on my first attempt, which I was really happy about. Good luck on your TEAS!! Keep us posted as well!!

Hi, this is very helpful thank you! I was just asked to take an earlier spot as well and given 1 day to decide, but have a few questions. I didn't attend orientation since I was offered a spot todayy. can you tell me what I missed out on or if you think I will be too far behind now that the program is starting in a few weeks? also do they have spots for clinical to choose any day or will I get last choice? Thanks so much!!!
Hi Starfish
Congrats! Your should be fine if you decide to start in Sept. You have over a month to go over your skills and be ready on Sept 7th.
As for clinicals I'm not sure... I know the options for Clinicals are Sunday 6am-4pm Wednesday, Friday 1-11, but not sure which got filled if any?
If you decide to start in Sept I suggest you contact the professors and have them email or mail you you the things you missed. Also get your books ASAP. I got all my books on Amazon and Ebay, since books won't be available at the book store until the end of August.
I say go for it!!! Good luck with everything!!
