Quinnipiac ABSN 2017

Published

Hey everyone! I plan on applying to Quinnipiac this August (2016) for the 2017 start. I was wondering if there was anyone else interested in the program, how your grades are, or if there's anyone in the program now or in the past that has any information they are willing to share. Thanks!!

my grades:

Micro: A-

Anatomy I: B+

Anatomy II: A

Statistics: A

Is there an FB group for the 2018 class yet? Also, does anyone know the tuition cost? I had a rough idea of about $55k...?

I will definitely report back!

Also, I went to an info session last summer and I'm pretty sure I remember them saying the tuition was like $68,000.... and I was so shocked. I thought it was around $50k. I can't find my notes, but I'll post what I find out tomorrow.

Hi!

I just received my acceptance letter in the mail! I am super excited! I am graduating UConn in May with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Dev and Family Studies. Looking forward to starting in the fall at Quinnipiac! I was told that over 380 people applied and they accepted about 40. Does anyone know the cost of tuition? I am also a Certified Nursing Assistant, is anyone planning on working over the summer until the program starts? Or working part time during the program?

Erin

I just spoke with Financial Aid and tuition plus all fees is about $71,215!

They told me my financial aid award letter was already mailed and should be here today or tomorrow. So I am guessing all of yours will be coming soon too if you applied for it!!

Keeping my fingers crossed!

Welcome, ebow1430!

Hi all! Does anyone know if the cost of the program that's quoted includes cost of room/board? I called and they told me $71,125 as well, however I wouldn't require on-campus housing, but I wasn't sure if they group that with associated costs when telling students how much the program is. I got my financial aid letter today and received a $25,000 grant, but I'm just concerned the programs still more expensive than the other program I've been accepted into.

Hey ebow1430! Congrats on your acceptance. As far as the working situation goes, I personally think I'm gonna work one 8-hour shift a week.. at least to start. What were you thinking about working during the program ?

Hi CTFutureRN! I was thinking of applying for CNA jobs this summer and then maintaining one shift per week during the program but my concern is if it will be too much with class and clinical. My other concern is that I don't know if someone will hire me just for the summer knowing that I will not be able work when the program starts.

I definitely understand what you mean ! There may be per diem positions available ? It's definitely gonna be a hard hit with the tuition plus not being able to work much, if at all.

exactly! I was never able to make it to the open house either regarding the program, do you know what our weekly schedule will look like?

Has anyone set up a Facebook page for those who have been accepted and thinking of committing? It would be a great way to meet people in the program!

I'm not sure about the schedule! And yeah a facebook group would be an awesome idea!

Omg is it too late to fill out the FAFSA? Sorry for the stupid question, it's been years since I've had to deal with this fin aid stuff.
