Hey everyone! I plan on applying to Quinnipiac this August (2016) for the 2017 start. I was wondering if there was anyone else interested in the program, how your grades are, or if there's anyone in the program now or in the past that has any information they are willing to share. Thanks!!

Hi Jess-
I'm like you. Graduating with a bachelors in Sport Leadership & Management in May and no real experience other than a student volunteer rotation back in high school. Toying with the idea of taking CNA classes this summer in hopes of finishing early enough to work for a month or so before the start of this program. Trying to balance out the costs of additional training vs. the benefit.
As I stated in an earlier post, I went to the info session while I was home on break last week. There were 4 current students brought in to answer questions. One of them was in our situation. Graduated with a Public Health degree, went straight into the ABSN program and didn't have any experience. She said that there were times she felt a little overwhelmed and behind everyone but that it's doable, she's holding her own and she doesn't regret it.
Hope that helps a little.

I'm also in the same boat as you guys! I have a bachelors degree in Psychology. I had an internship in a psych hospital in Boston, but other than that I have zero health care experience. I'm nervous about that as well. But we can do this !! Are you both looking for housing near campus or do you both already live in CT?
Westchester county is beautiful! I have family that live in that area. I do live in CT, i live in the north west corner, which is a little over an hour away. I will be commuting. My cousin goes to QU now, so I'm sure there will be nights that I may stay at her place if we have super long days. I'm a little nervous about my commute, but I'm hopeful I can get used to it.
QU was my first choice, even though the price tag is so high. They'll deliver an excellent quality education--I feel pretty confident about that, and for this degree, I want the best I can get. Also, I believe they are one of only a handful of schools in the US that teach a holistic nursing curriculum.
I had Southern as my backup.

I received my acceptance letter last week. I graduated with a bachelors in finance and have been working in the insurance industry for the last 4 years with no hospital experience. I'm debating whether I should wait for UCONN or Saint Joe's start dates (if I can get in) so I can get some experience before starting. Does anyone mind sharing their background and experience? I'm nervous I'm going to be behind everyone with the fast pace and no experience.
Thanks!
Jess
