Boston Area Direct Entry Programs
Hi everyone! I'm super intersted in direct entry programs, specifically in the Boston area (open to hearing about others too!). I love Boston College's program and I have also looked at MGH's. I'm not sure if I can apply this year yet due to bulking up my resume a little, GRE, and possibly retaking statistics (eek!) as that it my own not so stellar prerequisite (all others are A/ A-), and do some soul searching in terms of specialty area. My reason for posting is... -What advice do people have for applying to these programs? -What stats are considered 'good or competitive' obviously 4.0 and perfect GRE would be awesome but that is not in my case! My undergrad degree is Nutritional Sciences and GPA is about a 3.4 and my prerequisite GPA is about a 3.6-3.7 (depending on classes included). Have not taken GRE so cannot speak for that but I am not the best test taker so I am definitely aiming for 50th percentile on both. I'm aware that these programs not only care about grades and test scores but also life experience, work, etc. But they do seem quite competitive in their own ways so I'm nervous! Though I am very motivated and hoping to applying next year and just starting to think about what I can do to increase my chances. Any advice would be amazing! I'd love to speak to current students BC or MGH / people who got accepted to learn more about the programs and what not and how your application overall was! Thank you so much!

UCONN CEIN/BS 2018
Are people getting emails or something in the mail? Trying to figure out what I should be looking out for! And if its email is it a specific time of day?! ( You can probably tell I'm anxious!)

UCONN CEIN/BS 2018
@ Karmin Thank you so much for the information this is extremely helpful! Do you think its bad that I'd have two prerequisites left? (Would have them finished by December) I have to retake genetics and was planning on doing it online through Manchester Community College and then I have to take a research methods which I also was going to do through a CT Community College. Thanks again for your post!!

UCONN CEIN/BS 2018
Hi everyone! I'm super interested in applying to the CEIN/BS. Though my only issue is I have to retake one class (got a B- and need at least a B!!) and take another. Do you think applying for the August deadline with these classes still in process is putting me at a disadvantage? I know stops fill up so it makes me nervous! I'm hoping for the Stamford location. Any advice would be great! Thanks!!

Right now I'm really just torn between Quinnipiac and Northeastern...but those are some good points you made. I had no idea about the holistic nursing curriculum!

Quinnipiac ABSN 2017
Hi all! Congrats to those accepted! I have been accepted as well! I was wondering, how are you deciding to attend QU over other programs and why? I'm trying to decide myself and wanted to see how others are deciding :)
