Hi Guys,
I just graduated from a LPN program and am eager to get into a RN program. I am looking for any information regarding QuincyCollege/Massasoit. I am looking for info for either their part-time programs or full-time programs. I have gotten their basic info but nothing about what hours they are, or clinical sites, things like that. I have a young son whom I would have to make child care arrangements for. If any of you have attended these programs I would appreciate any info you would have to offer.
Thanks SO Much!!!:loveya:

Hi,
I graduated from the Quincy RN program last year( 2007). I did the afternoon program, full time. We did our rotaions at NE Sianai, South Shore, Quincy Medical, Milton Hospital and there were some at Brighams for maternity. Plus we went to the schools for a rotation. I saw alot, especially at NE Sianai. I had trachs, vents and alot of decub. wounds. I don't know much about the Massasoit program, but I hear its pretty good. I also have a young daughter and it worked out great I was home before she got home from school. The rotation days are on Tues and Thurs. sometimes it runs late so I would be a little later than usual getting home. But the instructors were great (I thought) and I learned alot and felt prepared when I started working. Good luck!

Hi. I just graduated the LPN-RN at Massasoit. It was great. We had class one afternoon a week from 4:30-8:30 I believe and then clinical one evening a week from like 4-10ish. I really liked it and I didn't think that it was too hard either. Clinicals were at Brockton hospital, South shore hospital and the Mclean hospital which is at the Brockton VA.
Hey Amy,
I would love to get more info about quincy lpn-rn program. Could you post your e-mail address.
Thanks

hello. i just started the day program at massasoit. i couldnt believe i got in considering this was my first time applying there and i know how long the waitlist is. i was at brockton hospital school for about a week and a half then massasoit called me and said i got accepted off the wait list. so i transferred over there. massasoit was my first choice and its about. $24,000 cheaper than BHSN. thats a HUGE difference in money.
this semester im taking NU101. the schedule is extremely comfortable. monday and wednesday is lecture from 10-11:50am. tues and thurs are our clinicals from 8am-1:30pm. then fridays we have free except for 4 or 5 10-12pm specialized labs during the semester. they staff is extremely helpful. i had less than 24 hours to prepare everything i needed for class since i got accepted 3 days into the semester. i love it there. and its comfortable for me as i am a returning student to massasoit.
i heard the lpn to rn program is pretty flexible. i have some lpns in my class now.

hi alinadee,
i am applying to massasoit for fall 2009. how competitive is the program?
i have a 3.8 gpa (from massasoit), got an a- in bio and am in a&p1 right now. i've got all the other non-nursing courses done with a's in those (human development, socio, etc).
what do you think my chances are??
thanks!
the program is very competitive. i heard that over 600 people applied for it this year and they accept 55 people for the day program. they did also add a night program in which they accept about 30 people.
its because its such a great program and its so inexpensive.
your gpa looks great. make sure you also get a&p2 done or in progress when u send in your application. i have everything else done besides micro.
make sure you have a good letter of interest. they dont conduct interviews so they really want to get to know you by your letter. it is very important. i didnt do very well on my net test in math but i did very well on the reading part.
i also wouldnt hurt to go over and introduce yourself to the secretaries and to atend the info session.
good luck!!!

Thanks Alinadee!
I will be registered in A&P2 this spring when I apply for the evening/weekend program. Thanks for the tip on the personal letter! My A&P1 prof has offered to write a letter of recommendation.
I'm already matriculated as a Liberal Arts Transfer at MCC (started taking courses in May 2007) so the Admissions lady said I just need to fill out a change of major form to be added to the applicant pool. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
And congratulations on your acceptance into the program!

hi!
I am also waiting to be accepted to MCC lpn to rn program,
I have everything completed except microbiology which I hope to take this fall.
But...although this is an extremely good program, I will apply other places as well.
Must strive over the summer to do well on the NET in the fall..due to the fact they are looking for a 75 or better.
Anyone else in my situation?
Hi
i was accepted by Massasoit already and I hope you get in. I thought that they sent out all the letters to the applicants already but they could be doing it different with LPN's. I took a reading exam when I applied to their program and they dont do the NET exam anymore only a reading exam.
Yeah, I have been waiting since I applied to Massasoit in December. I finally recieved a letter at the beginning of April telling me they would be contacting me for a interview. 2 weeks later, I had my interview and was told they were interviewing 50 some odd people for 42 slots in the evening lpn to rn program. I was told that I would know in about 4 weeks. Now it has been 6 weeks since my interview and I am still waiting. I am getting so aggravated waiting.:angryfire Monday is JUNE 1ST!!! How much more time do they need? I mean I would just like to know one way or the other so I can start to plan. All the other applicants in the day program were notified 2 months ago.
Anyway, I don't know what the hold up is but I guess I have no other choice but to wait.
Any other lpn to rn prospective students or former students at massasoit want to add anything?
