I just took the NCLEX and it turned off at 77 or was it 78 questions? I feel horrible, starting crying when it shut off. I got about 10 SATA and a few med calcs. But I tried to not keep track of those. Anyone else get this amount and pass? Why didn't it shut off at 75? Why 77 or 78 questions?

It just simply met that at 75 questions it wasnt sure if you had passed... think positive though! At 75 questions it knew you had not failed! It might have just needed those 2 extra questions to make sure that you passed it! People have passed at 75 and 265 questions and I am sure there are people that passed at any given other number. Hope you get good news soon!!!

Number of questions means absolutely nothing in determining if one passes the exam. You are going to have to wait until you get your results, impossible for anyone to second guess on this.
One bright note is that 85% pass the first time, so that is in your favor.
Best of luck to you.

I just took the boards today and my test also ended at 76 or 77 questions! I got upset when it didn't shut off at 75, but then I didn't feel like I was ready for it to stop at 76 or 77!!!! The worst part for me is that they told me that I may not get my quick results until Tuesday of next week because of the 4th of July holiday this week!
I'm trying to take peoples advice and stay positive but to be honest, it's not working...

Sorry, but Quick Results thru Pearson-Vue are available 48 hours after you test; and their computers are not down on weekends or holidays.
Even when someone tests on Friday, they get their results on Sunday; and for Thursday, they are available on Saturday. They were available over Christmas as well as New Year's, and even on Memorial Day.
So shame on the person that told you this. You may see on the website for Pearson-Vue that it can be up to two business days after testing to see your results, but that is only when something needs to be verified or there were issues with something. All that have tested and have posted here about their Quick Results, see them 48 hours after testing.
The computer already knows if you passed by the time that you left the exam, but no one else does; including the proctors that work at the test center.
Best of luck to you, and please come back on Friday and post how you did.
Oh thank you for that, waiting until Tuesday was going to kill me since I can't go back to work until I get the results! I will definitely come back and post how I did, especially if it's good news!

I also took the NCLEX yesterday, July 2nd. I called Pearson on the 1st to ask when would the quick results be posted since the 48hrs fell on the 4th and the rep told me TUESDAY!! I feel so much better knowing that I will probably see something on Friday instead of waiting almost a week for results. I had 75 questions, 15 SATA and one drug calculation. Good Luck to everyone :)

I had a friend who just took the NCLEX in early June... She had 78 questions and PASSED! I'm sure you did too. I had 75 questions with about 10 SATA and just a few calculations. Best of luck to you!!

I also had 77. Took the test on the 3rd and will be anxiously waiting until Saturday for the results. I can finally clean my house. My life has been on hold since graduation!
