  1. Thank you so much Jbeachgrl! Just the answers I was needing. :) I was going to order all white Nikes but maybe now I'll just get some non-mesh nurse shoes. I think I am going to do the self move option, for $2000. My step-dad is a rancher and is offering to drive his huge trailer for us. So, hopefully that works out okay. Thank you so much for responding!!
  2. I took the 8 week course and really liked it. It was perfect for me, great material and tons of practice questions. I thought it was well worth the money. I also used it as my main review materials for the NCLEX and I passed with 75 questions last month. Several people in my class took it as well and really liked it... All of them passed as well.
  3. Hi Sweetmya, I took the 5 week course from NCSBN and loved it. I thought it was a prefect review... My nursing faculty recommended it to me, I also had several classmates who took their courses. I passed with 75 questions as did my ENTIRE nursing class (woo hoo for us!) Good luck and happy studying!
  4. Thank you!! :) I am very excited, I know several people interviewed for this position and I feel so very blessed to have been hired... Talk about intense interview! I can't wait for my first day. I know it is snowy and cold sometimes but I have lived in South Dakota alllll my life so I am used to that. Working for this organization makes any unfavorable weather worth it!! However, we have already planned trips to Vegas, Mexico, and Greece!
  5. I have wondered this too! Thanks for posting.
  6. You have a very good point! I am shopping as we "speak"
  7. Thank you so much! I have to buy ALL new everything...
  8. Hi all, I am going to be working at the Mayo Clinic in MN starting in September and have a few questions... In my unit we have to wear navy scrubs, can these be any brand of scrubs or are there only a few to choose from? Can I wear all white running shoes or do they need to be leather (no mesh)? How soon did you expect to get your "lump sum"? I have so many questions seems like.... Thank you in advance!!
  9. I had a friend who just took the NCLEX in early June... She had 78 questions and PASSED! I'm sure you did too. I had 75 questions with about 10 SATA and just a few calculations. Best of luck to you!!
  10. Just wanted to add my 2 cents on some test takers randomly getting all 265... A member of my nursing school faculty was actually a question writer for the 2008 NCLEX and she told us specifically that no one will "randomly" have 265 questions... That the # of questions you get is directly related to your individualized answers... I admire all of you who lasted to 265, what a feat! I posted in another thread that God only gave me what I could handle and that was 75. Congrats to all the new RNs of 2008 and praying for those of you patiently waiting. :loveya:
  11. CONGRATULATIONS RN!!! There is no better feeling in the world :). Way to go on surviving 265, I admire your stamina. Thankfully God only gave me what I could handle and that was 75 questions... But, this took me 2 hours! I'm super OCD about eliminating answers and being thorough. How long did the 265 take you??
  12. Just want you to know I'm saying a prayer for you... I took mine on Monday, left the office holding back tears knowing I had failed. Was sick to my stomach, couldn't sleep. THANKFULLY in SD we get our results in as little as 24hrs and I checked the next day and PASSED. I was POSITIVE I had failed, I had never taken such a hard test, too many SATA to count. I had 75 questions but this took me 2 hours! (I'm always slow at tests, I check and re-check and re-check my re-check). :) Sending good thoughts your way!!!!
  13. Whoa, you are a speedy test taker! I had 75 questions as well, but this took me 2 HOURS... I just found out I passed, even though I'm a super slo-mo test taker. Best of luck to you!!!
  14. Congrats on graduating next year, I'm sure you are looking forward to having a life again. :) I'm not from CA, but I can let you know when I applied and everything. My #1 goal was to work at the Mayo Clinic in MN, so I started talking to a very lovely gal in HR a year and a half before I graduated, just to meet them and put my name out there. In Feb. 2008 I talked with them again at a career fair and applied the following day. I had an interview shortly after and was offered the position in early March 2008. I graduated in late April. Good luck on your job search!!
