Questions about being a newly registered nurse?

Published

As the nursing board exam was newly released last August 23, 2012, I think we have to wait for the PRC to schedule when we will be able to get our licenses. So far the only training I have attended was the BLS-SFA..Next will be the ACLS and IVT training.

Do you think I should prioritize getting my IVT first? According to some, we'll not be able to complete the cases without licenses. And I think our possible schedule for IVT will be on October 17 or 24 yet because of the proximity of place and I haven't found any schedule anymore for September.

We're planning to go to some hospitals we would want to apply for by this week, by passing our resumes to them. Do you think it'll be fine even if we haven't got our IVT training and license yet?

Thank you for anyone who'll answer this. I'm kind of confused of what to prioritize. You may have additional information if you like :)

I recommend that you should get your IVT training as soon as possible.

Most hospitals require an IVT and BLS training before they can consider your application but I know one hospital that doesn't require any training at all-PGH. :D

Hello everyone! I have recently passed the July 2012 NLE. yey! :) I have not registered at PRC yet. Is it possible for me to train for IVT, BLS etc even if i have not been registered yet? Could a printout copy of my NLE rating suffice? Thank you very much! :D

Congrats colleague...yap u can have an IV Traing even you're not yet registered just present a printout copy of your nle rating or a claiming slip of your liscense for those who already went and registered in prc office, and it cost 1700-2000PHP......and for bls training u can, even without a copy of your nle, and I think it is more cheaper in red cross.....just an advise, just take first the basic trainings like ivt and bls coz most hospitals require these before they consider your application...then focus on which specialization u want like if want to be a nurse anesthetist or renal nurse, ICU nurse, coz there are specific trainings in every specializaion....don't take inappropriate trainings just to earn certificates....god bless
