Do you have any specific questions? I have not completed the program but I am pretty happy with it. I'm only aware of one other person on this board that completed the entire program and is now an RN. I think she was also happy with the nursing program. It has its quirks, but don't we all. :)
BTW, welcome to allnurses.
what is a passing grade for the first level of fundamential nursing, how are the grades determinened only on tests,or they would include homework, some extra credits, will teacher give you a chance to improve if you fail first test? Thank You so much!!!!!! I am so worried, because I am thinking to pay from my own pocket and it scares me if I fail.
I believe that you need a 76% average to pass a course. There are regular homework assignments. There is also a drug calc quiz in every clinical course. I don't know anything about extra credits.
Have you applied?
No, I will start tomorrow. Should I find clinical sites before the application? Thank You so much for your support!!!!!
Were can I take the test at home on line or I have to go to special centers. Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Natali60543,
If you are applying for the Summer session...here is my advice...with the number of applications that I heard were entered for the Spring, I would have a clinical site ready and include that information with your application if you can. I believe this would give you an edge when applying.

Natalie60543,
All testing is done online in a timed format through WEBCT, with the exception of the clinical evaluations that are done in St Louis.

Natali60543,
The nursing courses and any gen eds you may take with DCN will be online however the Fontbonne courses (affilate school with DCN) and other courses you may need through other schools may require the exams be taken with a proctor at a public or college library.
I would strongly suggest you find and secure a clinical site(s) before enrolling IF possible. Depending on the state you live in, this may be the biggest hurdle to this program. I know, I live in a state that has not been receptive to distance education and the preceptor idea. Take the time now and at least get a feel from some local hospitals. I tell you from experience, the stress this issue can have is enormous. Don't wait. The worst case, you will have lots of sites willing to have you and then you can have your pick.
What are the Fontbonne courses? Thank You for respond!!!!!!!

Fontbonne University is a school where DCN students go for their general ed courses. It's about 5 minutes from DCN.
The courses are also available online.
