Hello!
I will be taking my CNA exam (FLORIDA) next week. I have couple of questions:
When you do footcare do you wear gloves?=I have been practicing based on what the checklist says, and it does not say to wear gloves.
Thank you for your help!

Hello,
I have a concern, when removing the bedpan may be placed at the foot of the bed while I cover the patient and remove the cover this under your buttocks, then I go to the bathroom and clean the bedpan, I put it in place and where the patient back, here again I switch my gloves, or I should change gloves in 3 times, when I start the procedure, when I put the bedpan as clean bedpan and after I finish the procedure and continue to labor with their hands the other skill.
Thank you very much for your help.
Hello, I wonder how you did on the test of skills and knowledge as a CNA.
I would like to ask if you performed the skill of your bedpan and if I can explain the entire procedure, I have read but I found different ways to perform this procedure and I'm confused especially after removing the bedpan.
Thank you very much for your help
Good morning, I ask what is the best way after withdrawing the bedpan.
1. When you remove the bedpan taken immediately to the bathroom, cleaned and then wash your hands, gloves and place where the patient back, help you clean your hands and finish the ability, then remove gloves and wash hands and continue with another skill and after place the bedpan must wash hands and put gloves too.
2. When you remove the bedpan is placed on a towel on a chair and then assists the patient with a towel to clean your hands, cover the patient and eliminates the laundry and finish washing the ability bedpan and washing hands.
3. Before removing the bedpan is removed the laundry, is caring for the patient to wash hands, remove the bedpan with the left hand and right hand covers the patient and remove the towel is removed and thrown underpads away, opens the door and goes to the bathroom to wash the bedpan, remove gloves and wash your hands and the ability ends there.
I would like to know what is the best way and the fastest.
I'd also like to know if the time they give one enough to make the 3 skills and find the materials needed, wash hands and put gloves.
Thank you very much for your information

I am not sure if you should attend to the equipment cleaning before finishing with the pt; at my school, they told us to place the pan on the portable potty on top of a barrier paper towel, assist the pt and then clean the equip just prior to closing steps... but either way: besure to use the gloves three times so as to not cross-contaminate.

Hello. I`ll take my exam on November 8 and I have question:
Do I need to wear the gloves when i doing reposition?
Thanks.
It seems when gloves are NOT needed you would not be marked down for wearing them (unless it is applying lotion for a massage, then you might be marked down?) but wear them if in doubt.
Since you wash hands before and after repositioning, I would put them on, and discard after the skill is complete.
Thank you student forever.
I am so nervous.....:uhoh21::uhoh21:
Is anybody know do I need to apply lotion after Nail care?
Thank you.
Yes to the lotion.
After soaking the hand,
- remove from basin and pat dry;
- use the orangewood stick under each nail (be sure to wipe on the towel after each nail);
- with a wet washcloth, push back cuticles, moving the washcloth at each cuticle, pat the hand dry,
- file the nails making sure to have a raspy sound so the nurse can hear it,
- then pat the hand dry.
Remove gloves if wearing them, warm the lotion in your hands and apply to the hand, using the appropriate massage.
- Pat the hand dry with towel while removing excess lotion from your hands, too.
