Questions about Bellevue Hospital Center

U.S.A. New York

Hi Everyone,

I am a new graduate who recently received a job offer from Bellevue Hospital. The position I got is a medical/surgical position.

I was wondering if anyone would mind sharing their insight on how the working environment is over there and what is the current starting salary since it's running under HHC. Do they offer BSN and certificate differentials?

And if there are any words of advice that you can give, I would gladly appreciate any feedback! Thank you!

Friendlyelse - Yes, optimism is the key! Continue to be on the lookout. I'm sure there will be a hospital that will see your potential as a great nurse!

Dualfocusrn - I received my assignment sheet today and the base salary is indeed $69,252. My HR representative, however, doesn't seem to know the exact BSN differential. They said ~ $900 extra for BSN. Do you know what certificate differentials they offer? Would IV Certification count?

Congrats!! and Thank you.

Hmmm, still not sure about the differential. To my knowledge I don't believe that the IV cert would count. I believe it would something more along the lines of a wound care cert, ER cert, specialty certs from tge ANCC and the like. $900? Hoping this isnt true. My HR rep also told me that my salary would be adjusted to the new one despite my previous offer.

Friendlyelse- another option for now may be to go through a staffing agency to get your foot in the door for now until something else comes up. Im registering with one now just so I can get some per diem med surg experience since my specialty is in Psych.

dualfocusrn, thank you. I sent you a private message.

Just responded.

That's great to know. Thank you dualfocusrn! Yea I think it'll be $1,500. My HR representative didn't know the amount so I think they were just saying ~ $900. I hope I won't get underpaid haha. I wish you the best of luck in your career and in your masters program!

For sure and you as well!

any luck? what registry? I am currently in California with 2 years exp as a LVN in internal med w/IV certs and phlebotomy skills. I just endorsed my RN license into NY!!! I am looking to move in next few months but with no actual RN experience I am looking for something that will use my skills but get me into the hospital setting. Looking into manhattan and BK. As a LVN in CA I make 62k, but will be happy with a RN job that makes me work harder.
