Questions about Bellevue Hospital Center

Hi Everyone,

I am a new graduate who recently received a job offer from Bellevue Hospital. The position I got is a medical/surgical position.

I was wondering if anyone would mind sharing their insight on how the working environment is over there and what is the current starting salary since it's running under HHC. Do they offer BSN and certificate differentials?

And if there are any words of advice that you can give, I would gladly appreciate any feedback! Thank you!

Also I am not at Bellevue. I am at a different hhc hospital.

I agree with dualfocusrn. The wait can be from weeks to months. I applied in October and I waited until April. The HR can really take their time to reply back to you. I did not apply online, I was referred by someone. I wish you the best of luck too!

Thank you! And it was just today that I received my processing paperwork from HR. Looks like orientation will begin early August. How is it going for you so far? Did you ever receive a definitive amount for the education differential? I still dobt know for sure...starting a rn to MSN program soon.

Wow what a coincidence! I just processed my paperwork with the HR yesterday also! They told me orientation will start August 3rd. Maybe I will see you there because orientation will take place at Metropolitan Hospital rather than at Bellevue. I am still not very sure about the salary and the differentials because what I heard from the HR is different from what someone else told me. This person I know went through orientation just recently and heard different numbers. I asked the HR if they had the recent raise and they didn't really know. I will definitely keep you posted once I really hear back. They really took their time to process my paperwork before I got the chance to meet with the HR.

Does anyone happen to know when the increase in base salary will begin? It's currently still stated as $67,222 on the HHC website.

Hi, so the contract actually said the July 21st. I remember last years increase was slowly reflected on the internal job website within a week. Each hospitals HR postings will vary I guess...hoping soon. I will continue to check. I wondered the same thing because my job offer also showed the current salary. Btw I will probably start in September because I have to wait for my department to confirm my "release date", my department doesnt want to let me go, lol. I also asked HR about the differentials but they told me I have to contact someone else about that...idk why they make it so difficult to get information.

Wow I hope you can start in August! They take forever with that release date information. It is so difficult to get information from them...I think they aren't very clear themselves too. I just hope everything works out well. I am going to keep checking also. Once I get the salary and benefit information, I'll let you know

Good news. After stalking the internal appicant career board at my job I noticed today that the contract increase is now reflected in the salary. Current salary now $69,252.
