Questioning Nursing career choice

Published

I've been working as a CNA since i was 16 and absolutely love it. Since then I've always wanted to be a nurse because i love working with people and the health care field. I'm so close to starting my core & clinical classes and now I'm second guessing my choices. I work almost 60 hours a week and I miss my family. Time os irreplaceable and i feel if i continue on with my nursing degree I'll be stuck working crappy shifts and miss out on even more. I'm so unsure of where I want to be now that I keep thinking about this. On top of that I have no clue what degree I would want to pursue. Does anyone have any experience with this? I just need someone to tell me how it really is going to be.

If nursing is what you want, I would definitely go for it. I've been a nurse for a little over a year and I love it. The great thing about nursing is that there are so many opportunities. You don't have to be stuck working too many hours or with a bad schedule. It just depends on what type of places you are willing to work. Clinics are usually monday through friday, 8-5. And home health agencies are usually great with allowing you to make your own schedule. You should look into yhe different types of employment opportunities out there. There are so many. I'm sure you can find something that suits you if nursing is what you want.
