can you apply to This Excelsior Nursing program with a C.N.A certification???

Specializes in Trauma,ER,CCU/OHU/Nsg Ed/Nsg Research.

Nope- A traditional program might be the best choice for you. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

Specializes in Geriatrics.

No, you must first be a LPN to even apply to them. As far as I know there are no on-line LPN courses and if you find a place that says they offer it I would be VERY skeptical of them. To get your LPN you are required to have certain number of clinical hours. There is soooo much hand on learning!! I worked as a CNA for 18 years before I started nursing school and although the CNA experience helped me tremendously there was still SOOOOO much clinical instruction and procedures to learn. Good Luck to you!!!

Excelsior actually accepts paramedics and respiratory therapists, that is where all of the issues have come up with different states. And why the program is not accepted in all states.

With the LPN under your belt for clinicals, then you have a beter chanceof getting the degree accpeted in your state, but still not all accept a degree from there. The list I think is now at seven states that do not accept it in one form or another.
