Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I am new here in the US and am about to take my NCLEX exam. I am applying for licensure and will work in North Carolina. However, my family is in Arkansas. Can I take my exam in Arkansas and still get my licensure in North Carolina? Will it slow the process at some point? Do I have to apply for reciprocity of licensure for this? PLease help!

It physcially does not matter where you actually write the exam, remember that many take it before they even arrive in the US.

But how are you about to take the NCLEX exam, if you are just applying for licensure now? NCLEX is the last step of the licensing process.

Yes, you will need to get a license by endorsement in the second state, but you cannot do that until you have the first. But, if you are going to work in one of the Carolinas, and not work in Arkansas, then you do not need to get a license for Arkansas. You can still write the exam there for your state where you will be working.

NC is a multistate practice privilege. so when you get your license i know you can practice in virgina, SC, tennessee and texas, there may be more but i am not sure of them all.
